Hi everybody.
Here a WIP of one of my next projects.
I started as usual from a standart head modeled in Maya (a cute girl) and shaped the model in ZB.

Looking good mate, very neat work..............
Hi,
excellent Model, looks soo smooth. Could you show us the Base Mesh too? I tried to model a Head (though no great skills for Proportions and such yet) and what bugs is that i think the Edge Flow isn't right. Is that Your reason for beginning in an external App? So this is basically about wether or not using ZSpheres for the Base or another App like i.e. Maya. Thanx in advance,
Eric

Hi AI02, here is the model i started form.
I spent a lot oftime trying to get an interesting edgeflow, and right now, each time i start working on a new head model, i use this mesh.
I used maya to create my base mesh, It would have been laborious to create, and EDIT the edgeflow in Zbrush.
In ZB I edit my model carefully, in the beginning, pushing and tweaking edges and vertices, before dividing my model to the next level. My edgeflow tend to follow the shape, the wrinkles of the model, so i get a cleaner mesh, and i use less polygons to achieve my work.
Actually, i've got a 100 000 poly model

Hey rimasson,
you*ve build up a nice head - I am working on my
modeling (in silo) right now. I am just playing so far
but i always get those 5 polys which have one vertice
in common. In your model you can see that at the lower
jaw - i was wondering how to avoid that.
or maybe they do*nt cause probs?!

Wow. The subtle detail adds a lot of realism.
Rimasson, awesome work, very subtle texturing but working beautifully...
I suposse there will be more contrast and the bumpiness will be slightly stronger once the image is near its completion
I admire your work sincerelly...
looking forward for next updates...
And i´d love if you could write a small painting inside zbrush (3d meshes) tutorial, just to know what´re your procedures...
cheers!

Hot damn, Rimasson as I was scrolling up and reading messages I thought this last was going to be a reference pic! It took me a second to realize it was the model itself.
Excellent texturing and coloring. The skin and lip detail are just amazing so far.
Am gonna have to watch this one more carefully from now on!:D
Hi Francois ...
thanx a lot for posting that Wire. Beautiful! I think all that discussion about Edgeloops is scaring folks off, at least thats what kept me hesitating. I guess all that will be "history" with the new Additions to ZBrush that are on the Way and with (whisper: Silo's Topobrush). Anyway, thanx a lot for sharing, damn good Model!

Nice!
You should inncrease the tone difference between face areas, top of nose and nosetrills, and almost one leeps, they are so specfics on black people.
I like to refear to final fantasy (film) characters. Maybe they are bit old, but they reveal good informations of human skin, almost on the black guy.

Here is it...
I tweaked the texture, the lighting, and added subltle detail in 2,5 D mode....
I only used Photoshop to paint the eyelashes and to composite some layers in order to tune up the lighting

That's a superb render. yep yep:tu::tu:
o men this guy is awsome...it is so realistic...
where you have rendered it ??
rimasson (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/member.php?u=6058), excellent texturing and compositing. I wasn't sure if you made the eyes in ZBrush? Good lighting. The work on the lips looks very natural.
Keep pushing those Pixols vbmenu_register("postmenu_189800", true);

Very impressive.
This is first rate modeling and texturing. There are many, many great artists on this forum, and I am always amazed at their work, but for realistic, life like modeling and texturing, this is one of the best I have ever seen. Have you seen the thread below? Also very awesome. You are both of the same league.

I believe this is antropus' work....
Slosh
This is true quality and hope to be doing this quality one day myself, untill then thanks for keeping me motivated. looking at peoples art and work on this forum sells zbrush to anyone with a slight hope that this can be achived from this software. I keep looking at keep being amazed.

Un freak-in real man. The little underground (underskin) zit by the end of the brow, and the variances in the skin all around are making this guy so hyper real. Great job so far. I'll be watching this thread. :tu:

This is real art Rimasson, congratulations!!!
Can you please tell how many polys, before ading the final touch in projection master, your model have, because im trying to increase my 450 000 polygon model (made with zspheres) and even i go at highest Sdiv level it seems i cannot det enough detailed model to add the details like yours....
Here is my head model im trying to touch up in Projection master and texturize...

really lovely model and a brilliant render. I am curious if you rendered in mantal ray? What does your shading network look like? I see some realy nice subtle details in the cheeks and lips especially the pore textures in the lower region of the face. Were these accomplished by bumpmap?
Thanks and GREAT work!
Scott
I have to say rimasson that piece is brilliant, beautiful work.
Wow, that is *really* photographic. Fantastic job all around, but the skin surfacing is particularly great. The only thing that lets it down a tiny bit is the eyes which seem a bit glossy.
Exquisite work Rimasson! This is one of my all time favorite Z-Brush pieces.
Modeling is nice and clean, the Lighting is Sweeeet, and the texturing
a masterpiece. It makes me all warm and tingly...LOL

Dotsorg :It's only a 100 000 Poly model, that's why i take care of the edgeflow... It saves a lot of polys
Scott Spencer :I rendered the model in Zbrush, and here is a sample scene with the lighting, the material and a sample of the texture.
I just added another lighting pass afeterward.
that's all folks

Stunningly Beautiful! Thank you for sharing the materials. I will check them out now. It is nice to hear someone still concerned with edgeloops to an extent. It really does seem to keep the poly count down and give you more control over the form.

I've looked at this pic loads of times and the detail in it speaks for itself. Awesome work from one of the real masters at Zbrush. However, I've just noticed he has no Eyebrows. Sorry for the ultra late crit!;)
Anyways, I reckon this may have been missed by loads of newcomers, so I thought I'd draw attention to it again, as it deserves it.
