We've seen alot of the zsphere at work, so here's an image that shows three other new things. A new material, a new stroke (splatter), and a new 3D feature. This is a quick low res render of this image, and I intend to update it soon with a better quality render.

For those of you who despise me ,well I suppose this is all the more reason to do so, but I am not posting this to tease you or to show off, but to show that it's not just modeling to get excited about. The 2D artists are going to really enjoy the new features also :)

Niiiccceee.
Even though I don't think we need any more anticipation, The first thing I look for at ZBC is new ZB1.5 images.
John
PS What is the Premiere edition? :)

Wow, that moon looks nice. This seems to be a pretty significant upgrade from all of the items we have seen posted, and all for free. Not a bad reward. Patience people, patience. :) :) :) :D :) :) :)

Nice fantasy pic! I am so glad you put this up to show some features for 2D artists, as that is where the majority of my work is. Thanks!

Cool experiment, Can't wait to see the finished image.

It's actually called the "Spray" stroke.

When I was talking to Pixolator at the Macworld Expo, even he referred to it briefly as the "Splatter" stroke and then quickly corrected himself. Now see what you started Juandel? :D

More features! Yeah!
I like the image Zoid - has a children's story feel to it.

Zoid my friend I like this image.
Thanks for using some of the new tools and options so we can get an idea of how 1.5 will play. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Nice image and thanks for the opportunity of seeing some different aspects. Any chance of seeing if the new tool that produces a complete figure is capable of anything with correct proportioned hands and feet. If it isn't, then all my hopes are shattered. :tu: :tu: :tu:

DM, yes, the ZSphere can do proportional modelling, check this thread by LeDiscot.

And for my CyberElf image, I am planning on including figures with proportional hands and feet as well.

Thanks WingedOne you have cheered me up considerably. I was begining to think, whats the use of a new tool that mostly produces figures equivalent to freebie plastic aliens out of a cornflake pack. :) :tu:

No offence meant to any individual Mentat, the first one I saw was Pixolators and initialy thought it was a quick demonstration. Then when all of them seemed to have big hands and feet I began to think this was all the new tool could do. As I had seen kids toys very similar from a cereal pack, thats what I thought of. I remember taking a lot of time with my Hercules image and was quite put out when you said the stone texturing was out of proportion, it hadn't looked that way to me. So I think it's not out of place for those of us that want to produce human figures, to query the disproportionate figures produced with the new tool. ;)

No offense was taken Dave. I was just foolin with ya :D Without turning this into a style versus style thread I would like to say I like creating big hands and feet. I explained why in one of my threads. And the sandstone texture you did was just an observation and not intended to tear you down. I am about 12 feet away from a Carthage Granite wall and the texture apppears considerably less defined and grainy than it does when I am standing next to it. In the end it really doesn't matter. I know I make my images the way I want and not to please any particular person. :D

Well I finally made it back here with an upgraded version of this image. Thanks for all the nice comments. I thought that I was going to have more time this week to play with 1.5, why must work always get in the way? I like childrens book illustration very much which is probably why this image came about. I used a stencil and the spray stroke for the shooting stars.

Can't wait to get my hands on the spray brush - I can't think why I didn't add this to the wish list, but there you go - gonna get my wish anyway. :D
