View Full Version : Post Your Interfaces!!!
As a bit of fun, I thought it would be a good idea, for all those who have taken advantage of Zbrush 1.5's ability to customise the color scheme and layout of the interface, to post them here in this thread to share. So if you've customized yours yet, show us, if you havn't, get cracking!

Looks great, MJ! Nice balanced use of colors, and the blue background looks cool.
FYI -- I'll be posting a ZScript in the next few days, which enables you to manage your color schemes, export them and share them with others. Plus, it'll streamline the task of choosing the 32 colors which determine how the interface looks.
Look for IColorManager, coming soon to a ZBrushCentral thread near you.

Great news Davey...I don't have any screen capture utility, and would like the idea of streamlining the sharing process, given some of the great variations possible...I find myself customising for the project I'm working on for 'mood'... ;)
It would be great to be able to share our interface designs in an easy fashion... :tu:

How can you customize it to stay? Everything returns to default every time I close the program. I must have missed something????

How do you snap shot your work space like that? What do you need to show something along with the entire interfcae like that? :qu:
Northstarr, after you set everything the way you want, press ctrl+shift+i. That will store your settings.

You can also open Preferences->Configuration, and click on 'save configuration'... ;)
Also, v.151 has a Restore button in the top of the Preferences palette. This allows you to return to the original ZBrush configuration at any time without having to restart ZBrush.

You can copy(screen capture) your current Windows app window by pressing Alt-PrtScr (print screen key)
It is now in your clipboard paste into favourite paint program and save as jpg.

These configerations are all very impressive. They certainly permit ease of work. I get the impression that you folks are using large monitors! am I right in believing that is the case?

Hey thanks for the inspirition to play around with the interface setting, I never considered that it would be a "work in progress" but since I'm sure we'll all be messing with t from now on I guess it is. Here's what I've come up with so far.

lol, DeeVee...
I wish I had a big monitor, as it is, I'm struggling with a 14" Samsung :D
I just dont have the money to get anything bigger yet.
As you can imagine, its hell even with a 1000x1000 design!

Okay, first of all, I don't have an interface to post here...
And second, I have a very embarassing admission for a 55 year old guy to make.
I'm in love with an interface!
I'm working on the background painting for a piece I hope to post a WIP of later, and I suddenly realized that I could, with merely a couple of clicks, have an interface to match the mood of the painting I was working on...Suddenly I was 16 again, Mary Powers, (a precocious blond of my acquaintance at the time), and I were in a summer field, with the soft light of a sunset playing off her cheek, in an obviously timeless moment...
Oh yeah...The interface... ;)
:tu: folded into the next continuum, and dedicated to the best interface design i expect to see in my lifetime.
(And thanx for the memory... :D )

Blue is my favorite color. :D
Hi everybody!
These are all great.
In fact, Pix must have been reading my mind, as the ability to change the interface color was one of my feature "wants".

Slosh and Thishinina both have tool palettes "floating" or whatever you call it on there work space, how do you do this? I've tried dragging them into the space but that won't work. What am I missing?

Hey Sample, hit the Spacebar while your cursor is in the drawing space, or alternativley right-click your mouse... :)
But...Aurick has a great set of tutorials in the 'QuickLinks' that will show you
ALLthe tricks of the interface!!
Check that out.
Here's what I'm using for the moment, still have a lot of experimenting to do. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1030669473iuv.jpg

And here is mine! I will probably change it though sometime soon as I really like the ones posted with everything on one side. That looks cool, and it might be better for working on larger canvases.

Very impressive interfaces :ex: As individual as the owners. It is nice that there are no two exactly alike. That is refreshing :ex: :tu: :tu: :tu:
Here's another. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1030677402cbj.jpg
ok here is my Interface layout with a zsphere
model in progress.
http://64.171.55.164/Myinterface.jpg
and no this isnt a poser model. Girl started as basic Zshpere dress modeled in TrueSpace,
hair kabozo's combined in Truespace imported back into ZB for textureing and finishing touches, then will go to poser for amination to be used in a game being made inprogress.
hope this clears up any confusion on the part of some.

The IColorManager, which gives you tools for importing, exporting, creating and modifying color schemes for your ZBrush interface, is now available in this thread. (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=007735)

I think it's great to see all these cool color schemes. But what if, when we post a pic of our interface, we post the color scheme data file as well? (Assuming IColor Manager is installed)
Think about all the different schemes available then! You could switch between not only your designed schemes, but that of who-knows-how-many other user's schemes! What do you guys think?
Just thinkin' outloud...
Jason
PS ZBrush kicks mucho grande arse! :)
