Okay,
Here is my final attempt with some texturing. It was fun to make this model, and was a better use of my spare time than watching TV, I guess.

I really want to get into 3D modelling as a hobby in the future, and I needed a little help from you guys. I wanted to know if there are any good links which explain the CONCEPT of polygons, displacement maps, texturing, lighting and rendering in any general 3D application with examples.

Also, I downloaded a tutorial to make an eyeball in ZBrush (with gel shading material), but I have 2 important questions - PLEASE ANSWER THEM!!! :

QUESTION 1 : I know that I can place my head model on the canvas, then load the eyeball tool and place it in position. However, what happens is that my original head model gets stamped on the canvas and I cannot rotate it further.
Hence, for every view, I need to place the model, stamp it on the canvas and THEN put the eyeballs in position! Is there any way in ZBrush where I can load 2 tools with DIFFERENT materials and still move BOTH OF them around???

QUESTION 2 : In my current head model, the material for the entire model is the same (skin shader). Hence, I cannot provide a glossy material to the eyeball part alone, since the entire model will become glossy if I do so. Is there any way in which I can paint a material to a specific part of my model using projection master??? (In this case, I want the already existing eyeballs to achieve a glossy effect - but at the same time I want the material and texturing for the rest of my model to be the same).

I hope you can help me with this!
Thanks

well im no expert but Ill give it a shot and I think one answer will suffice for both.

1st load ur head tool ... mark him (you might need to set ur marker setting so it remebers the various things u need ... like color/texture etc.

now load ur eyes tool and place it ... mark it ... repeat for second eye.

now at this point I think u can clear the layer ... then selct the multi markers too and using the square stoke tool ... stroke out ur three part tool.

as far as now editing each tool seperately u can im pretty sure but exactly how u go about it Im not sure cause Ive only so far gotten the parts explained to work ok so far :).

Heres a fairly sucky zScript (cause I dont know how to record em correctly) and I make mistakes and stuff ... but It does show marking and setting the options for what the marker can remeber. Just ignore the stuff that makes you think ... why the heck is he doing that :).

And say yes each time it asks you to initialize.

hope it helps some.
