View Full Version : Mockup wip

Just some z fun with mocking up a book cover. The head was made in z. The "undead" title was a black and white text I made in psp and imported it to z as an alpha. I used the make 3d to convert it into a model and then used a z texture inverted (the little sky and mountain one) the rest of the text was added after rendering and exporting the image back into psp while I composited the head model with the 3d text and then merged the layers in psp and added the 2d text...was kinda fun and looked kinda kewl, so I thought I would share. I will probably do some other versions on this thread as time permits. Thnx for looking.

I Like it! Yeah, work more on the eye , usually, zombie have classic human eye, but they look blind, nearly to full white.
Worke a bit more on the skin : you could make it moreblue/yellow/gree, with spots, and put under eye a bit darker...
Good work, keep it up!!

nice fish!!Musky or Pike?!!!BAS! I caught a smaller bass last week and the only other fish caught that day on the wall was by a man fishing to the left of us..and yes it was a catfish...(my favorite fish btw) the cat went about 30 pounds. My friend David and I had to assist the guy in landing his catch...here is his pic.
Thxn for all the response on this thread yall.

these are beings you brutalize or kill, just for fun, right?
Ron Harris
01-16-05, 09:47 AM
well for me, Smell...hmmm when I was a boy growing up I would feed my family alot of the times, so then it was sporting for food....now that I am 40 and have my own family I fish for relaxation ....it's cheaper than taking Paxil....the man in the pic with the catfish took it home to feed his family....My family however does not like fresh fish...so I feed other families if the catch is good, though I will unfortunately say the last striped bass I caught died while on the stringer and we did not bring ice to preserve the catch. So I fed the fish to about a dozen homeless cats that are living at the area I caught this at. Normally my catches are small during the winter and I take a pic of me and the fish and then release my catch directly back to the water. I hate waste, but it does occur .....but then again those poor little cats were hungry too...so I guess this time I just added to the food chain a helping hand.

Are albino cats pretty common by you Ron?
never saw one before...specially not one that big.:D
Ron Harris

Aminuts, I have caught several at this particular place....(Cumberland City Steam Plant TN.) This cat was a blue cat. I the blood in his eyes made him appear a bit albino...There is another local cat called the White cat...not albine but looks similiar to this blue cat....The albinos are truly like a bunny rabbit...white and pink...if I get another one of those I will post it.....but they are all good eating...though I prefer pansized fish for tablefare. (Easier to clean and young and tastier and more plentiful). In my 1000th post I posted a pic of a local man who sat the world record a mile or so from where I caught this. We kept that world record locally for several years until this last summer I believe and a man in Texas broke it. But that pic like I said is on my 1000th post page...In this thread that striped bass was my largest bass ever taken and my largest overall fish was a very very large fresh water drum,(and normally I would not mention catching large drum but...she was huge). That pic is on the 1000 posts thread for me. I will look for the link and post it here just in case you are interested...
edit..found it...muhahahaha

I dont even remember the new record...I was happy to see a larger one caught but losing the world record locally hurt....:o :o :o
This is my head of the night....a progression shot .Very subtle details added in each shot....Nothing earth shattering but lots of fun..thnx for looking...If zbrush does nothing else for me, it keeps me calm and relaxed.

"They were shooting at me, but at least I had a semi-soft landing".........I guess that could happen here in the south during duck hunting season ;) Bas gave me the idea to use one of my existing fishing backgrounds with my current zbrush model. Composited in psp, foreground water added with the flamingpear.com flood effect....The wings and the body were new models I have played with on and off today in between naps....Everything is zif based....His feet were just too ugly and the hands give him questionable attitude .....just an old bald headed warrior angel I guess...and I assume angels dont reproduce due to the fact they would be supernatural beings and created rather than hatched...or some thinking along those lines...no zombies and no blood.............yet.. ;) I think the skin material was Sokar's..I love that one...no painting done on the model. Render adjustments and shadow touchup in postwork in psp.

A little chaulk type test with z2's 2d tools....fill layer will black under the Layers pallette and simple brush with white and black paints....no zadd...RGB only with a level between 2-15ish.... then the second one is the same thing cept I colored it roughly ....light rgb settings....no a very good sketch but I was working fast to capture the essence of the technique trial....exported and composited the two in psp...Southern's pencil case script allows for the same/better ability to use Zbrush as a sketch pad for this type work. The white on black was my original intent...I know this technique has a name....had seen some work in it in some old art books I have around here somewhere...anyways...have a good one...

Waaauw!!! This one is a real creep! I like it Ron!!
Man. This one freaked me out from just the thumbnail. Truly disturbing, evocative work.
OMG, I love the Undead pic at the beginning of this thread. very well done, esp the eyes. I also really like the "chalk drawings" on page 2 (I think?). Since I have limited browsing ability right now, I am picking out a very few threads to view. Glad I chose this one...Keep it up, Ron.
