been playing a lot of zelda games lately, so i felt inspired... still need some detailing and texturing in z, but i'm falling asleep.

Have you used PMaster for it?
Thanks

thanks illusion digital and andreseloy.
i used maya 6 for the base mesh, then exported that low poly cage into zbrush to add detail and texture. and andreseloy, it was vertex paint, i'm still not comfortable using projection master.
here's a little update. this time with a simple background.

Your first test renders looked great -- far better than Nintendo's offering. And I love the environment you've created for Link in the latest renders. But Link himself no longer looks good. His material has too much specularity, I think -- he's reflecting way too much light.

The actual lighting is probably fine -- it looks great on everything else in your scene. But, Link himself looks like he's made out of metal now, where he was clay or paper before. It's sucked the warmth out of him and made your image much less approachable.

thanks for the comments and suggestions Ctrl-Z. i guess if nintendo used around 40-50k polys in their character art instead of 4-5k, their games would look much better. not to mention that they probably haven't discovered the beauty of zbrush yet! :D
the material i'm using for link is lambert, and it doesn't have a specularity setting. only diffuse. i've turned that down and moved the extremely bright light that was right above him out of the way.
