Hello,

Need some help using morph targets.

Working on a MAYA imported model, I set my morph target and started to model. During my modelling I saved out the 90% completed model as a tool. Zbrush crashed 5 minutes after that. Now I have the displaced tool, and the MAYA obj.

How do I place the tool (displaced model) that I saved back onto the imported MAYA model which is primitive in poly count.

I'm not sure I understand. Do you have a high polygon tool with just 1 subd level? If so you can press Tool : Geometry : Reconstruct Subdiv, change to subd level 1 again, press Tool : Geometry : Reconstruct Subdiv, etc, until you have a base subd level with the same poly count as your original.

I recieve an error stating that I have triangles in the model, which is strange because before it was imported, I've converted it from Poly - Subd - back to Poly for a true quad model.

You are running Reconstruct Subdiv on the zbrush tool right? Not on the newly imported Maya model.

Basically if you have subdivided an object in Zbrush you should be able to reconstruct the lower levels if you need to.

What poly count is your saved zbrush tool at? What exactly do you mean by "displaced model".

This is all happening in ZBRUSH.

I don't know if this is reversable, if I missed a step and can't go back to where I want.

When I try to reconstruct the subd's on the displaced mesh - meaning I added detail to the imported maya model -> I get an error stating that I have triangles in the model.

Sounds like you have partially divided your model at some point. If not then I have no idea, sorry. Hope somebody else can help.

If you have performed partial divides on your model you are out of luck I am afraid. To be able to switch to your morph target you need to be at the subdivision level that has the same amount of polygons as the stored morph target.
