This was a quick test image I put together with ZBrush 1.5 (Premier) edition. Phone base and hand piece were done with polymesh skinning. Phone dial was created with alpha skinning. Hands were done with Zspheres. Soft shadows were used. No global illumination, since that hasn't been implemented in this version yet, I just simulated it with lighting. Phone number was done with Elefont. I realize the phone dial has no numbers, but someone else needs to use the computer.
QUIZ: Can you guess what movie character's phone number is shown on the phone? :D

ARGHHHH! its obvious that this is a GREAT pic but please: could anyone tell me what alpha/polymesh or whatever "skinning" is all about? it sounds a bit carnivorous/cannibalistic to me but that kind of private connotation seems to miss the point
TIA

Aww..Evoken got to post before me :(
O well lol
Great image!!
I love the way the phone looks and also the pen and paper. Fabulous job and the lighting is great.
PS: go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and click the image tab. then type in 555-0690. u get a link and it tells u about the number and how it is Trinity's phone #
Very cool! :D :tu: :tu: :tu:

Looking good! Now get whoever is on the computer off, so you can give us so more of this stuff. Yeah! :)
Hi WingedOne,
It looks like we're on the same wavelength. (Yes, I have the premiere version also  ) Like you, one of the first things I did was make a hand and also tried to find the new light settings.

Were you told that the new lighting wasn't included yet? Did you find the new "rays" and "aperture" settings in the shadows panel? The look of global illumination in this image was achieved by setting ambient to zero and enabling a gradated light-to-dark texture in the GDI and GSI lights settings and turning them up to about 50 each. A point light placed overhead with shadows in zmode and "rays" turned up to about 150.
That's a pretty cool phone BTW, and yes, the alpha-skinner is an amazing new function.
Juandel, I think an explanation of skinning is best left to Pixolator who I'm told is planning a special presentation here of these great new features. Sorry to tease you more, and this beta-bubble will burst soon so that everyone can enjoy 1.5 :)

Yes, the I noticed and used the soft lighting, but the radiosity (indirect illumination) hasn't been included yet.
Evoken was right about the number.
