View Full Version : The MAIKO plays GO-game
Hi.
My name is Shikuri. I'm girl friend of Pigma. ;)
Frenchy Pilou was requested to me in September, last year.
The contents of the request were "please making the picture of ZBrush on the theme of go-game."
GO-game is imported from China to Japan a long time ago.

I made the "MAIKO" do this game this time.
A girl is became to "MAIKO" by the youth of teens, memorizes a dance and manners and completes a respectable geisha girl.
Right MAIKO is a senior. Left MAIKO is the younger generation.
The difference is the custom clearly expressed with the difference in a hairstyle, or the difference in a dress.
I live in the traditional city "Kyoto." A geisha girl is called "GEIKO "there.
A "geisha girl" is a given name at Tokyo city. :o
Frenchy Pilou, is this picture matching your request? :D :D :D

Hi Pigma
I have to say that this picture is probably my favourite of all pictures on the Zbrush gallery.
Many pictures are very good containing Aliens, monsters and other supernatural beings etc, all very well done with great skill. However this picture of yours has really impressed me so much, the textures, materials colour and lighting are perfect.
It is a cultural masterpiece, it says so much about your culture and its beautiful artwork.
I will print this one out and it will be framed and hung in my studio.
Thankyou Pigma

Hi All
I appreciate your message.
Thank you very much. ;)
Hi Frenchy Pilou :D
I am glad to have you be glad.
This picture was made for you.
While "GO" is a game, it is the tool which solves philosophy.
I do not play "GO". :o
However, I know it is in fashion in schoolchildren under the influence of the boom of animation now in Japan.
The "fifty-three post stations of the Tokaido" is a kind of the most famous ukiyoe of Japan.
I like the landscape of the brilliant layout which "HIROSHIGE" draws too.
However, I think it unsuitable to copy these scenery using ZBrush.
These landscapes sketch the actual scenery of Japan of those days freely.
And since those layouts were wood-block prints, they were possible.
Moreover, though regrettable, I do not do the copy of others' picture. :o
Some day, If I meet with beautiful scenery of Japan and to want to express the impression by ZBrush, then your proposal will be realized in another meaning. ;) ;) ;)

it is soooo refreshing to see a twist on the use of
zbrush .
A question how did you do the canvas shoe on the figures foot
in the foreground? In zbrush?
This is really beautiful. Thanks for showing us it.
