View Full Version : Any head modeling scripts from beta testers?

I don't know about anyone else, but I would sure like to see a script showing how ZSpheres can be used for head modeling. With the limited time I've had with 1.51 it seems like the amount of detail one can achieve is limited. So, do you use ZSpheres to rough out a shape then skin it and resort to previous methods.

Inquiring grey matter wishes to know.

That's the way I see it...The key is to make the head sphere high rez, and then make an adaptive skin, which will give you a low rez mesh...As Aurick has mentioned on another thread, in a very short time, probably within days, you'll start to see tips, scripts, and other info to guide you...I would suggest playing around, to learn the basics of the new features, and waiting for a few days for the additional information, before taking on a complex model...You'll get lots of ideas, once all the download thingies are done, because right now the priority is for the people who don't have it yet to get 1.5...

Then things will settle down, and the scripts will be posted, along with a lot of quick tips to help you... :)

Thanks SC. Funny, in today's world we've grown so demanding for instant gratification. Patience has almost become non-existant. It probably stems from repressed memories of being a kid and sending away cereal box tops for whatever was the lastest craze and then waiting weeks on end for my prize to arrive in the mail; running home from school to check the mail box, only to be disappointed that it hadn't arrived that day. Ah well, I will go back playing with 1.5 and count my blessings for being one of the lucky ones to live on the west coast and hence able to stay up until 11:58 PM to download ZB when it was first announced.

Well, I'm a gemcutter, the materials I normally work with took hundreds of thousands of years to form, and it gives you patience and respect for the material...
Computers tend to cause you to lose sight of that patience...Just play! That's ultimately how you learned to learn in the first place! ;)

Well, I didn't record the script for it, but here is a ridiculous example of Zsphere head-sculpting overkill, with the Ztool in the thread. This is not the easiest way to make a head with Zspheres, just another, unusually odd, way to do it. Trying to make an ADAPTIVE skin won't bring realistic but bizarre results, but if you use the other method you will get an easily modifiable skin with most pieces in place.
