Great model Qn, but i don't understand your workflow ?
As it looks from your Maya-mesh you are an expierienced modeller, but you
created first a Zsphere model then an adaptive mesh and then exported it to
maya...why not create this lowpoly mesh in Maya in the first place, that must
be a breeze for someone with your Maya skills !
Second, your model in Maya looks very detailed, warts and all, and then you
bring it back to Zbrush to enhance the detail that's already there !
Was this a Zbrush exercise or is this the way you like to model ?

Hey Qn, greta work. I must say, you do far more work in Maya than I would, but to each his own. I do use a similar process as I find the early roughing in Zbrush fast and efficient. Then to Maya to fix a few things, I suppose any app would do. Then back to Zbrush for the detail.
If you were making a low res model in Maya to animate, I can see it, but I'd say it still had more detail than necessary.
However, I think it's a great model! I love those little characters.
Seems a lot of people are starting to remember the past films, one of the Ghostbuster gang is on another thread.

you have exported the Disp map from zbrush you have applied it with Maya?
i don't understand which step you have followed in order to make it:o :o
can u help me:qu:
Hi!
Thank you for your comments.
Wip04.jpg
1. ZSpheres (easy to use, very fast)
2. Export adaptive skin
3. Adding low poly detail(Maya)
4. Finalize in ZBrush

Adaptive Skin is a poligon model that creates you ZB after to have used the ZSferes?
it is a species of obj that amounts in Maya and then you add to us particular like eyes, ears? and then you have import again the model in ZB and modeled the small particular ? so you have not used the displacement map? thanks for the reasons and the patience:o
and sorry for my bad englsh:td:

Qn,
Love the model and the turn around, thanks for sharing.
I also really like the texture and the lighting you display him in, (GI in MAYA?)
If that is a Zbrush texture/lighting setup, any chance you could bang out a quick scene with a simple sphere or other primative using that texture and lighting setup and upload it here? I'm new to Zbrush and would love to examine and learn from such a fine example.

Hi everyone!
material & lights:
1. load your model
2. load mat & lights
3. change main color, or make new texture (R:180, B:132, G:85)

Much appreciated QN...
A 1/2 day of work, then off to Zbrush the weekend away!!!
(Assuming my wife doesn't have any chores for me to do)
B-
Awesome work.
Making the base mesh in z brush and detailing a bit in Maya or other app works really good.
Zspheres are good, and create a good base geometry (adaptive mesh)to tweak a bit , u can also pose your char better, and u can export in.obj format to Maya.yay!
further details in z brush rock!! :D

I've been thinking of a project for some time now and your gremlin would fit in nicely.
The Chronicles of the Gremlins: a 3D animated series. I dont have a specific title yet since the synopsis could change over time.
Synopsis:
During world War 2, the grand-father of the young kid in the first movie crashed landed on an island. The grand-father -in his mid 20 at the time- discovers a ruin witch looked like a laboratory. But what is stranger is the fact that the laboratory possesses technology (machines) that cannot exist on earth: not to his knowledge at any rate. (Remember the story takes place during the WW2 period.)
After he starts comprehending what the laboratory was for, he will encounter his first gremlins and later his savior-friend: a minority Mogwai. (see web page at the bottom of this post for reference about the minority mogwai)
He also discovers and other ruin site witch seem to predate the laboratory ruin
The rest of the movie will be about surviving, getting out of that island, revealing part of what the older ruin was and what other mystery the island holds-like creature prey of the gremlins.
Simply written, that's the synopsis

I'd like you to be part of the non lucrative project as a Character Modeler (for the gremlin part-- and other if you'd like.)
Since the Gremlin franchise is copy righted I'll never be able to sell any part of this so dont worry about me abusing your confidance or what not.
If the project really takes shape, I'll make a web site for the evolution of the project and to make us known to the general web surfers.
Here is a site quite interesting about the gremlins http://gremlins.wordpress.com/ (http://gremlins.wordpress.com/)
Please write back to me even if not interested
I anticipate having you for the project.
