I have a Wacom A4 Intuos II. Ive had it for some time, and have all the latest drivers (Im pretty sure anyway). My question is about pressure sensitivity. Trying to get a medium or mid pressure and sustain it over any length of time is practically impossible. It seems the line between light, medium and heavy pressure is so narrow that its impossible to use it to any advantage. I always took this as just part of the design until I read a few posts here. Now Im not so sure. Can someone clarify this issue for me. Its pretty much every piece of software Ive tried it does this. Photoshop is a good example. When drawing a straightforward line I can get the light stroke n.p and also the heavy stroke......but trying to draw a medium pressured stroke over any distance and I just cant. If this is by design then fair enough but I really am not sure at all. Ive tried all the pressure settings too. Soft medium firm. Its all the same.

Anyone out there care to clear this up for me?

Thanks

have you tried to customize your tablet with using the "wacom tablet" program ? in that is a drawing area with which you can tell your tablet pen how to react to your personal stroke-way and your personal way to click etc ...

Yes, I have. I set it for my pressure preferences as I have a heavy hand with a pencil...: )

Yes Ive tried this, unfortunately it seems to have a minimal effect and seems basically to be just a fine tune version of the pressure settings (soft, medium and firm). Im just wondering do other people when using their tablet have a lot of control when they use a medium amount of pressure, or when they draw light to medium to heavy strokes.

Im starting to think Ive got a defective pen :(

The erasor end of the pen erases even when its 1 inch or more away from the tablet. The only thing that counters this is adjusting the "erasor tip feel" part of the software to maximum (91%). Thats as high as it will go and is the only setting which yields a result that allows the erasor on the pen even close to usable.

Im seriously thinking of investing in a wacom airbrush style brush, the one with the wheel for controlling flow. Does anyone use one of these???? Are they easy/good to use??

oh sorry to hear that ... my pen works perfect, but i have small wacom graphire only, and i only did that with the wacom tablet program ... i noticed however that my pen works much better with photoshop than with zbrush. therefore i prefer painting where i need good control on pressure of brush in photoshop...
