Amother ZSphere head hohum:rolleyes: this is a tool still under construction. I post it as I have to do something with it, because when it is finished it will lay forgotten on the hard drive for evermore. So I'm letting it live a little, and getting it out of the house, to a place it will be forgotten in a few days..... the poor little bugger:rolleyes:

Wow man really awesome model!! is 100%zbrush??? nice cavities for the eyes as well!!! maybe u should finish your work by texturing and using colours in the projection manager then make some nice eye tool for him. Next put him in 2.5 d and add the eyes (simply add the eye tool and in projection manager using move in edit mode and then export doc). take a pic and post again cause i would really like to see the final result on this one!!

keep up the good work the guys shouldnt be lost on your hd ;)

Thanks Bicc:)

Hi Mindsculpter,

Thanks
I will finish the tool and post it, But as for textures..... after 5 or 6 years with zbrush I have rarely touched the things...... PM never gives me what I want, and in all texturing takes too long for poor results.

I only like the modelling aspect, although I never have the time to finish most of them. If someone gave me a state of the art computer, tons of ram, paid me for my time........ I would then be able to post full professional quality human tools for download here. No one is that generous unfortunately.

Cameyo:) and Brian:) thanks guys. Lost one hard disk of tools when the old computer melted.

Fade off eh....... might well be what is going wrong. I shall try it. That tool above is almost finished, I got side tracked. Had a play with a cartoon type thing modelled as I painted outside PM to see what I could come up with.

An old '70s cartoony bloke not finished as usual....just an experiment.....

Try this . Sculpt your object. Multi mark it using all the options under the MM tab. Turn off edit mode(object no longer is 3D) Paint your texture using any of the tools/textures available. Use the Mrgb grabber tool with auto crop off to create a texture. Select the whole scene with it(Mrgb tool). Clear the layer. Find the multi marker in the scene. Click it and redraw the the object. Enter edit mode. Click PM and fill the layer with the texture. I think it was the flat shade material I used. Any how use PM to pick up that texture, with out shaded colors/materials and fade turned off. This is kinda like baking your materials. Repeat. Turn your model, remark its position, paint, Mrgb it, and follow the further steps. This was an approach I was using in V. 1.55, it showed some promise. May or may not be outdated. Been awhile since I have thought of this. I have found that an approach similar to this helps eliminate the darkening of colors created by muliple uses of PM. Hope this might be of some help.

thx will try it but it sounds pretty complicated....i found out that if i use a lower res model the problems dont seems to occur that bad anymore...still the colors are not the same as in pm but i simply redrop the model and smudge the colors till i get the result i want. shader and material is a nono then pick up etcetc

Well apart from choosing the wrong version of this head, I am about 50% away from the texture I want, this is the latest practice texture...... EDIT: the jpg has knocked it around a bit.

You know, texturing really isn't that hard, at least to me. What's hard, IMO, is the shader/material aspect of making your textures look real. And then there's the lighting aspect too.

Being a traditional artist before I touched a computer, I must say I still haven't quite got the knack of making shaders/materials/lighting do as I want them too. IMO, everything is way too technical, and not as... artist friendly as I would like it to be. So I understand your reluctance to get into texturing, Ed, because I am in the same boat. But I really like your efforts so far, and I encourage you to keep exploring!
