I am having trouble producing some nice hands. Where the fingers "interpenetrate" at the base gets very messy when I rty to export the mesh to Maya. Are there any good solutions to this problem? The other problem is related to this. I also have problems generating a biped character. Especially where the legs join the body. It seems the solution is to make the character bowlegged. If I try to make the natural, I have issues at the hips where the legs interpenetrate. I need some help with these issues so I can get past them and start cranking out my models.
Thanks.

I realy have no experiance with maya, but as far as porting to other applications, hare is some thing to try..

Export the model with the TRI button pushed... this triangulates the mesh... it may help you.... I am almost totaly positive that maya excepts quad polys... but try triangulateing the model... it may do the trick for you...

as I said before I have No idea about maya, so if this dosent help, wait a bit longer and someone else will help :)

I use alot of diffrent applications and game engines, triangulateing helps ...

also if your model looks rough in maya but looks OK in Zbrush, try adjusting the smoothing in maya...

I know some old game engines and 3d rendering packages dont have auto-smoothing... you have to manualy apply the smoothing in your material browser...

Good luck... as far as Bi-peds go.. look in the quicklinks... also if you have the old version of 1.55b loook in the tutorial scripts... one of the introdictions to Zbrush makes a femail Zsphere model... I pressed escape, saved and used that model for months as a refrence, and a starter for humanoid bipeds...

there are tutorials in Zbrush2 also , Look under plugins/help....Ia mnot sure if they model a human or not... also on the top of this page there is a link called quicklinks... go there and look around, literaly hundreds of Zscripts..

Good luck on your quest... there are lots of maya users here so sit tight :)

My issues are specifically related to the knuckle area. When it is exported as an object, there are a lot of interpenetration and, what seem to be, extra polygons. Anyone else deal with this? If so, what did you do? Thanks.
