Hi guys,

I am really enjoying Zbrush - being a sculptor, this is the best tool that I have used since I started using 3D, that even comes close to the real thing.

Very cool.....He kinda reminds me of Q from Star Trek TNG. Gotta love this little addiction called Zbrush!! It makes modelling FUN!

:D addictive is the right word - it's just an amazing program. I remember playing with amorphium - and back then I thought it was the "program" of choice for sculptors breaking into 3D - but then came along Z - I just love it.

The above model I created in 3 hours - my wife had to pull me away from the computer.

Hahah another zbrush widow? Only solution is to let her play with it....but unless ya got two computers....you'll never get to play again  .

Cool, keep up the experiments and remember to wear a helmet while zbrushing as one too many frying pans to the head could cause major interruptions in modelling!

:D - I will keep that in mind - now, am I hearing from a kindred spirit?

early texturing tests using Z and mental ray renders - Z is just a cool tool - now even texture mapping is a breeze! hmm wonder why other apps never thought of adopting DUVs

Hi guys,

is it possible to have 3D layers in Zbrush? like say, can I add an imported mesh into the document that I am already working with a 3D model - add that to a layer and still be able to rotate both objects at the same time?

Probably not exactly what you are thinking but look into multi-markers and the multi-marker tool. There are zscripts included with z2 to show you how to use them.

Hi fellow Zeers - has anyone encountered problems exporting OBJ files from Maya into Z, mine seem to come into Z with the normals reversed - I even tried reversing the normals in Maya to see if it would work, but to no avail.

I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this. Odds are good that there is an export setting in Maya that is being missed.

hmmmm - let me play around some more with the settings - I have tried several permutations but still see reversed normals.

hi guys,

has anyone used Zbrush to make morph/morph targets? and if so, are you using the hires mesh or the displacement map?
