Hi Guys,
I just recently purchased Zbrush and here is a model that I am working on.

I also wonder how to get those magnet spheres working - what are the steps?
to create a magnet zsphere press q (to make sure you're in draw mode), and alt+click a zsphere chain.
the model looks like it's coming along...
may I ask for a step by step as to how you created that background though?

Thanks, guys - I finally figured out how to do the magnet spheres - zscripts are pretty cool!!! I tried it out on a new model

and here is a rendered version after bringing it back to Maya -

Hi Aztec...soljA,
thanks - the shadow settings are derived from a simple Maya 2 light set up with raytracing enabled - no magic at all. rendered with Mental ray

hi Guys,
I have been trying to follow the Zscript that explains how to paint a 3D object - is there a way to slow it down, pause, rewind or jump to a point in the zscript?
also can someone help me and explain the steps to paint a 3D object without losing the 3D manipulation -

Hi,
I am downloading some stuff at the moment so I can't open zbrush to give you exact stuff but you can slow down zscripts thru the zscript menu, I believe you can also pause it by moving your cursor to the top left of your canvas. I am not sure on this one tho..(i read it somewhere here from Aurick I believe)..with your cursor in the top left you can increment the script but cant remember how....am thinking the spacer key on your key board but again I can't remember for sure.
There is no way at this time to texture your model and be able to rotate it at the same time. Projection master does all the steps for you to texture in zbrush. It drops your model to the canvas making it a 2d object that you can paint etc then it does the hard part ...snapshotting grabbing etc and applying that to that portion of your model. Once you pick up and return to edit mode you can rotate your model and apply the same procedures.
so you would....
create your model then if you haven't already you need to create a uv map and texture. First create the size texture you plan on using making sure it's divisible by 2 if using any of the uvtiles. then go to tool>texture and choose mapping you want.
Then position your model for your first instance of using PM.
now click on the PM button and click the choices you desire....color, mat etc. and click drop or ok....forget what it says.
now you are ready to paint away.
when done click the button again and it will ask you if you are ready to pick it up....click yes if you are.
rotate and repeat.

Thanks aminuts,
that's very helpful - makes things much clearer.
Now, after I have painted my model in Zbrush - how do I keep that texture map when I export out to say Maya or Max?

In the texture menu at the top is a button called export that will allow you to save your texture as a .psd, .bmp, or .tiff file.
