I saw the fish modeling stuff at zbrush´s web page. It was cool. I immediately ordered rev. 1.55 for my mac. Later I understood that the fish was modeled with rev. 2.0. Is 1.55 capable to do such a job? What are the main differences between earlier version and a new 2.0?
Should I just wait to get a 2.0 for mac?

i am still on z1.55b, since mac user, but i have seen from friend lots about z2. i think, one big difference is the modeling workflow has changed, the zspheres are improved. now one can easily model objects with millions of polygons, and this way one can get incredible detail. my mac has tons of ram, but still i can model only about 120 000 polys, and with 180 000 it becomes immovable ... but polycount is not all. i made once, to see if z1.55b can do same as z2 as endresult, a tutorial from thenew z2 manual. this
z1.55 model (http://209.132.68.66/zbc/showthread.php?p=108894#post108894) is done following mentats tut, and altering it where z1.55 works a little diffeernt. if you like compare my image and mentats, they are not too different ;)

i think, it is a good idea first "train" with z1.55b, and then when finally z2 arrives you are prepared for the overwhelming new things, since you then already have good basic understanding.
and if you just want make images, and not models for animation say, i would state that z1.55b can do everthing you cn do with z2, it just need sometimes a little different approach ... ;)
