hi.
i have modeled the wings in 3ds max and attached them to tha base of the dragon.
then exported the whole thing via .obj and imported it in zbrush.

right after the import the mesh looks good, but when i divide the mesh it looks like there are some faces deleted or something like that.

can anybody help?
thanks in advance.

Hi, 9ofSwords, before first dividing try to push the "crease"-button in tool-geometry-menu ;)

I'd guess by the looks of the canvas that you're using Zbrush 1.55b? In that case it looks like you've reached Z's poly count limit...

you might also what to play with import settings.....in tools click the star tool, then the whole tool menu is available....go down to import and play with the merge, weld, and the other setting that is not ADD...hahaha I forget what it is called at the moment.
we had a thread here going on importing obj's created in a knot program and these settings seemed to work well when importing...
merge: on
ohhh tri2quad (thats the other one) from 30 to 45
and weld at .01
these seemed to work well when subdividing the mesh after importing.
looks like you have a lot of triangles in that mesh, could you post a wire?
zbrush really hates triangles and they might cause these artifacts. try turning 'tri2quad' all the way p. before importing it or re-export your mesh from MAX while avoiding any triangulation,
good luck!
had the same problem with imported meshes, but got rid of it by tesselating all ngons to quads (in wings) before exporting anything.

crease didn't work.
i'll check the import setting later.
