I have no idea what it is but I sure know I don't ever want to find one of these crawling in my bed!!
Just some experimenting. I created a face on a Plane3d, rendered it then MRGBZ grabbed it and applied the texture to a sphere. I then edited the sphere a little by moving and squishing it around. Then I used the alpha that was created from the MRGBZ grab to inflate it a couple of times. The shading of the grabbed object really makes a difference. I am going to experiment with this a little more...I have a few ideas.

VERSION 2 USING THE SAME MRGBZ GRABBED TEXTURE AS MAPS IN THE THE GDI AND GSI SETTINGS (SET AT 25 EACH)

This is a new one on me lonnie!Whatever it is it is very well done creatively and imaginative. I agree it is not something anyone us us would like to become aquainted with especially if it is hungry. :D :D :D :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :D
This is very slightly like an experiment I did a while ago where I imported a face texture from the sims and put it on a sphere, THEN did some low-polygon modelling. I am definately going to experiment with this technique you came up with, considering the image you were able to make with it ;) :D :tu: :tu: :tu:

I saw this earlier when you posted it first, but had to run out of the house to deliver some contracts to be signed...(long story) but I was going to tell you how much I liked this creature...version 1 especially....I wrote a section of my ongoing manuscript where one of my characters was attacked and "implanted" by something that resembles your creation. I have a sketch six years old around here somewhere of it...but when I saw your version I did the jaw drop thing....you nailed my character almost perfectly...though your appendiges are a bit more meatier than mine...it still suprised me...this day has been full of suprises...thanx for adding to them...

That dangling slim..or what is it called?..hehe...if you don't mind telling me what brush was that..fiber..snake hook or hook...or is it a 1.5 brush?
Thanks!
Very creative technique Lonnie and the results are a testament to the fact.....
I'm going to have to give this one a try.
