Itīs my first decent car model ever. Well, at least when you look at it you know that is a car and not a trunk. :)

I keep trying Wings and Iīm finding it as a very good moddeling tool.

Great to see you here again, Houdini! :D

Nice to see that your having fun with box-modelling type stuff! I enjoy LightWave for the same reason...ZBrush works really well with other apps, and when this displacement mapping deal is introduced, it should be a real good time!
;)
Nice start on your model! :tu:

Mr.S!!! :)
Glad to talk to you again!

Wings3D is very user friendly IMO. I would love to know how to work in LW but when I look to that interface I donīt have the minimal idea how to work with it. Everyone says that is SOOOO easy to work in LW, and that you are able to do everything on it...but I canīt even find the tools I want so I donīt work with it. Only time I did it was in a friend computer: I turned a torus into an abstract object only by using point moving... :D :D :D

Hey Mr. H!
If Wings works for you, that's great...It's not the tool, it's the craftsman! I had a hard time at first with LW, but once I shifted gears, and learned my way around a bit, it began to make sense...Feel free to write me at:

stoneboat@lightspeed.ca

Whether you want to talk about LW, or anything at all! :D Good to see you back again!

Wings 3D is a fantastic value for it's price or lack there of.
Another great program that is fantastic for it's lack of price is Dog Waffle. Looking forward to more of your 3D images. :) :tu: :tu: :)

Stupid question!
Is Wings 3D works on Windows ?
Without special system ? (open Gl or other ? )
Pilou out fashion :)

That's what this section is for Mr. H! :D

And personally, I don't believe there is a 'BEST' software...I've used Maya, 3D Studio, SoftImage, LightWave...All I know for sure is that certain apps fit my workflow better than others...
The most important word in 'Computer Art' is ART...Not Computer. A pen knife in the hands of an interested and motivated artist, is much more useful than a complete workshop in the hands of a dilletante, or someone who just wants to impress others. You don't CHOOSE Art, in my opinion...It forces itself upon you, demands things you might rather not give, and you go through your life knowing that the last thing that will ever happen is that you will be satisfied 100% with your work...(And THAT is what makes it worthwhile...The journey toward the unattainable...)

Okay...That's MY rant! And do post more as you go...This is the place for these experiments, and what works in one app, is quite often useful to someone using a different app...

FRENCHY: I've used Wings, and it does work in Windows...I think there is also a MAC version but someone else can tell you if that's the case... :D

cool model houdini , I know what you mean with those complicated interfaces with millions of options. At least wings3d is straightforward :)

Yeah, it's not the package- it's what you DO with it that counts. Great Wings 3D modelling, Houdini. :)

nice start to flying with Wings3D there Houdini... right on...

:tu:

As for best apps, the artist, and alike topics... well... always very entertaining to read such stuff... people, just like the apps they create/use, all work differently, and for various reasons... thank goodness we have variety in our lives eh... :D

Having fun and improving at what ya likes to do is the important part :tu:
