Just lately Escher ghosted through this forum, and left - again - a lasting impression:
- stairs and other hard stuff: TS
- Plants: Zbrush (some are NURBS out of TS, but I like those ZBrush-veggies best)
- Stick figures: Poser (sorry for that)
- assembled, rendered in Vue 4.2

What it is? Just don't ask me! ;)
But, there is a small part of Escher there (way to the left), and there are those O2-emitting plants (right side).

While Deevee (from what I've seen) always tends to have some chrystal clear pics as a result of working with Vue, mine are generally well fogged.

Beautiful work, where are the bathrooms?

left "tower", two floors down, but take care: most times they are flooded.

These are stick figures, they don't know what to do with a lavatory. But, there is a nice bowling room in the leftmost tower, Escher-style: you drop them balls instead of rolling them. Makes a nice rumble. Entrance restricted.

Nice work. Great mix of different software programs. Vue is pretty good at handling high poly counts.

Mitch, you can bet on that!! While TS only gags whenever I import a ZBrush object (same with MAX), in Vue it is easy going: import, save off as Vue-object (browseable library!!). Could not do without it!

EDIT: forgot: this is not "best renderer", took about 1,5 hours with predefined "final"! Nothing comes close!!

Sorry, Marcel, TS=Truespace. Allmost the same as Cinema or MAX (there are differences, ok - but mainly it's a nice modeller at a reasonable price).
Thank you for liking it! Glad you found some kind of mood (it is always the hardest thing to get into a pic - for me at least).

DeeVee, thank you, it's really appreciated!!
Btw: had you a chance to look at the new version of Vue (Pro) yet? There is that much buzz going round about bugs and stuff!?

I have refrained from getting it at this time. I am told that with the upgrades it is now behaving as it should. It apparently has a lot of nice features as well as a new render engine. I will let you know as soon as I decide to take the plunge :) :) :D In the interim, I will soldier on with 4.2. I understand that they are working on an upgrade for 4.2 also, so we will see.

i had great hopes for the new greenery :D in Pro - if you read the compare-list at e-on: not to much changes to 4.2.
Anyway, the first one that gets it...!
Thanks for bothering!!

Hi Ze
Great Image!
But a big difference with Escher, your construction as I have seen is possible :D)
I can't resist to take another time the best Maurits Cornelis Escher link  (http://www.mcescher.com/)

Pilou, my thanks, and: those folks are tiny ok, but >> look at the leftmost upper region: seems like two of them behave very much "Eschery" ;) >> (HINTHINT: one of them stick-figures is pointing in the very direction of this tiny spot)

I tried - really - at the beginning of this pic to re-capture some more of Escher, but while doing some of them veggies - it turned out to be a bit more Z then it was planned in the first place.

We have discuss of that before I don't remember how , that is some hard to make something impossible with a real system 3D :)
For your image I take my tong to the cat I don't see the impossibility :)
Can you make a close up?
But you right, somebody who see your picture think immediatly to Cornelius if he know it :

Done :D

I should have put a third figurine beside that horizontal doorway - perhaps. But, that was after it got more distant to Escher.
Is it possible to completely copy this stair-picture of Escher with a 3D modeller? I think it is, also I think it is of no use to do so. Once you got it how he twisted geometry...!
So this tiny spot is more of a "hommage" to Escher, nothing more!

Ok The close up show more than the original :)
Your structure is logic and constructible, it's the personnages :)
So we are on the moon :D
