If you go here (http://mandragore.bnf.fr/accueil.html) you find 80 000 pictures and 7500 illuminations ! Clic (http://gallica.bnf.fr/themes/ImaMA2.htm) and see that. (http://gallica.bnf.fr/document?O=08100128)
A research index (http://mandragore.bnf.fr/rechercheExperte.jsp) : just enable "les images numerisées" and input in "Date par siècle" a number between 5 to 18 and good surfing

Hi Pilou
They are beautiful - thanks for the link, I love illuminated manuscripts.
So much so I have been working for a little while on a 3D illuminated manuscript page of my own (chopping and changing between projects as usual). Here's a very early WIP - the arch was textured using your technique :tu: and the background is just a placer photo to help with atmosphere. The hardest thing to do I have found is trying to work out how to mimic the often odd perspective :)

Here are a couple more links to illuminated manuscript resources I found while researching. It's fantastic that libraries are making these resources available for a worldwide audience.
La Bibliothèque nationale de France (http://www.bnf.fr/enluminures/accueil.htm)
Uni of Oxford Bodleian Library (http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/dept/scwmss/wmss/medieval/medieval.htm)
