Call it notorious - the reality is DESPAIR!
Waiting for ZBrush to be back in full glory (had a nifty hardware crash with my HDD going kaputt) I got nothing to do but this kind of things
Well, I will do 3D again the minute ZBrush (not in demo-mode) is back again.
:D ;)
EDIT: Jenny Greentooth (mine looks more like Lore Ley :D) hides in puddles, and it is said that she grabs kids and --- NO, this is a family forum, I will NOT describe the nasty details!! ;)

Wow, this is awesome Z, is it a scan of your
work or a tablet Zbrush? At any case, it's a
hilarious piece of drawing. You should really
consider bringin' it to 3d version.

Well I LOVE your line quality, Z...
So I guess your '3D Loss' is my '2D Gain'. ;)
I just had a drive go down yesterday myself, but since I had a 'double operating system' installed, (which made my techie very curious when I had him set it up, as to my reasoning), I just had a 'burp' and could carry on...
In spite of my selfish love of your 2D work, I hope you get back to normal soon...
(But this IS very nice.)

Thank you matvara!
It is done with my recovered box, with a Wacom and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, and it is not done with pen and paper because I had no greenish paper, and one of my sons took away my colored pencils :D .
Considering doing it in 3D? No. Because: if I could manage to beat myself :D, it would be 2D in the end again ;). Waiting for ZBrush to have a "go" again, well I just found out, that I did things like Jenny not for the last 2 or 3 years. I had a lot of fun with her (grafically :D ), and I mean to do such things more often. Back to the roots, so to speak. :)

Stonecutter: thanx to you to! Well, I did a lot of Grandville-copying in the 1980's, just to do his engraving's with a small, real small pen and ink. Sometimes I enlarged those pics 200/300% ;) - maybe I took profit from working on a football field with a one pixel pen :D .
About the machine: I hate them all!!
(including me who is not a machine but did never any kind of backup, writing down the data of my purchase via digital river, etc!!). Maybe it get's all better if we get these machines as implants - brave new world :D !!

Hi Ze
What a good one !
Juxtaposition of monster and natural beauty makes sens !
Ah ! Jean Ignace Isidore Gérard GrandVille !
Gift :)
Rares Color prints (http://www.raremaps.de/grandville.html)
As I see you love engraving !
So try to find this incredible book by the french iconoclaste writer "Jacques Sternberg" "Dictionnaire des idées revues"
There are 200 pages of selection of the better engravers (for him) from the beginning to the present time ! With small reproductiobs. A must!
It's my bible !
Alas no more edited :(
Maybe in library ?

An original indeed!

Pilou (this time almost serious): thank you so much for them color-tables!! Most of them I know very well by those two books "Bilder aus dem Staats- und Familienleben der Tiere"
means: "pictures of the political and social life of animals" (the translation might not be correct)!! I "met" Grandville first by reading the illustrated "Guillvers Reisen" (for some reasons I never did understand it was called something like "adult version"!?), and decided to do such illustrations by pen.
Copied a lot, and had a lot of fun doing so.
Again: thank you for this link!!!

Copying is the only solution for progress!
And now from what I see, you have a very fluent style
Bravo!

EDIT: but I am thankful that noone called her "Mrs. Gollum"!! :D
And rtyer: those body parts are only covering the slightly weak neck (assembled her not quite right, and now I got some bolts left over :D )

Oh NO!!! Not her, please!! I dislike her as much as I like her father!!! ;)
Honestly: them Elves in the movie >>> pig ears and simply to good to be true!! Disgusting!! I still like Gollum because he is the only one that is both: good and bad. All others are either black or white, and those good ones are mostly boring (with exeption of the hobbits). ;)
