Well, it`s rapidly approaching my first full year of using ZBrush and I`m glad to say it hasn`t effected me in any way that I can think of.

I still have insomnia but thanks to Ofer, Jaime and the team, I have something to do while I`m busy not sleeping. It`s been a real blast seeing this community grow to it`s now 1000`ish members in just a few short months. I`ve seen ZB grow from its pre-ZScript 1.13 days into the Cog/Spiral laiden, PowerZScripting beast that it is today. Remember the days when we couldn`t even upload our images to a central server?. Anyone remember thinking how good Pixolator was before we knew the man behind the mask?

I`ll level with you. I`ve joined a fair few forums in my time, so why stay here week in, week out. Well, for a number of reasons really.

1. No other software developer to my knowledge gives this much attention to it`s users. It must be a love-of-the-job-ting.

2. No other software allows me to create detailed images in next to no time at all.

3. I still haven`t tried all the features yet even after a year. The stencil for one. I just haven`t got round to them all yet and Ofer keeps adding more before I can catch up.

4. There are relativly few flame wars and the ones that have started fizzel very quickly which is good.

Anyhoo. Just to reinforce my love of the software here`s an image I made in my first week or two with ZB.

Hear! Hear! I hear you Glen!

Almost a year for me too. This Zbrush has gotten in the way of my gaming, my music, my reading of good books and my sailing, but I don't regret it. For me, it started when I downloaded the free version of Strata 3D and I started messing around with making floating spheres etc.. Then I heard about Bryce and I went Online and bought it. Not 10 mins after doing so I saw an ad for Zbrush. I downloaded the Demo, used it for about a week and bought the full version. I have made a total of 4 images in Bryce and all of them had Zbrush objects in them :)

This community, Zbrush itself and Pixologic has given me a wonderful hobby, thank you all!

I agree 100% with you, Glen. This forum completely blows away any other I've found in terms of company participation, overall friendliness, and support by it's members to help one another.

The only other forum remotely like this one (and it IS remote)in those respects, is Talkgraphics, run by Xara, but it's a comletely different type of program (vector), not in the same category as Zbrush at all.

Then again, Zbrush IS it's own category, isn't it? Pixologic started a whole new kind of graphic software neverbefore possible, didn't they? :) :) :)

Hey, Glen -- are those scars from when you got a transplant of part of Pixolator's brain? I've always wondered how you were so darned good with this program. :) The surgeon should be sued for malpractice with what he did to your eye, though. Ouch!

I actually joined up in October sometime last year so I'm an oldie as well.
Time to get the walking cane....

Actually, looking at the Pixologic site, September the 12th 1999 was when the Pixologic site to help spread the demo (ver0.95). Maybe we should hold a belated ZBrush birthday party on 12th October?
Upham :)

Hi Glen,
i'm not an artist. I'm programmer and GIS specialist. I have written some small graphics programs with Delphi and OpenGL. I realise the difficulties and the problems to write ZBrush software and then ... i love it and bought it.
I have finished only few images, but playing with Z is a pure pleasure for me. I start with an idea, and in short time i'm lost on ZBrush marvelous power.
When you (all people) have time do the following:
START ZBRUSH and enjoy life.

Thank You PIXOLOGIC.

Aha Southern, I knew it! You used a digital camera, not ZBrush to create those images! ;)
Anyway, well said, all of it! :)

HaHaHaHaHaHa :) What a photo, what a hoot!!!

I’ve always enjoyed the company of anyone who’s passionate about an interest that also happens to interest me – and your portrait is a screaming testimony to your passion for the Z. You’re also one of the premier evangelists for Z – well done!
