Wacom tablet problems

My one year old 6x8 Wacom tablet has recently
developed a problem -when I'm editing lets say a sphere rotating it the pen does not let go of the object like it used to itseems
like everything I try to do with it gets carried 10-15 pixels past the point I wanted to go to-I bought a Wacom Grafire tablet and it seems to work just fine but is to small
and does not seem to have the sensitivity of
my larger Intuos-any ideas anybody?

Mine will do that every month or two, intermittently...I just give it a quick 'tap' and it lets go... :) It might be a sensitivity setting deal... :qu:

Mine had a similar problem just a few weeks after I got it. I went into the tablet setup and monkeyed with a few of the settings and it worked just fine. Try setting it back to the default settings and see what happens.

When was the last time you changed the stylus tip? And have you replaced the "flap" since you first bought it?

The thing is SO sensitive, those are usually the first to blame.

Kathy; you just reminded me. How often should one change the stylus tip? I've had my graphics tablet for about 3 months now; and I'm curious how often that tip should be changed.

So far I havn't noticed any performace drop or anything like that. How will I know when it needs to be replaced?

Take a look at your plastic flap cover on the tablet itself. If there are light "trails" or scratches being left, it's time. I put in 5-9 hours a day (5 days a week) with mine, so I change my nib every 30 days.

The scratches are the best tell tale sign as well as "sensitivity" problems popping up.

Ok thanks Kathy, umm.. another question; this may sound stupid. But how exactly do I change it over? After fiddling with it for 10 minutes or so, checking the manual again. I can't figure it out =P :confused:

Not a stupid question at all Cal. :D

Grab the end of the nib with your fingers (or tweezers if your fingers are too big or your teeth if you are like me :D ) and pull. It is designed to come right out.

Insert the new nib flat end first and push it in until it won't go any further.
