View Full Version : "Real" 3D
This is a small experiment I did today:
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1007096751pzr.jpg
The "3D" view of this image is visible with a pair of red/blue glasses. It is very easy to do if you want to try it:
:b2: Make a model
:b2: Snapshot two views of it. Turn the model slightly between the two. The first one should be blue, the second red.
:b2: Using ZBrush, Photo-Paint, Photshop, etc., composite the two over eachother, so that each gets 50%.
:b2: Get a pair of 3D glasses.
:b2: Make an animation of this and post it.
:b2: That would be nice...
:b2: :)
Edit:
Here is a script of the method:
Experience True 3D (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1007183353mxa.txt)

great idea, muvlo... had a look at it with the chromatek ones ( :) robo!!!) which are not using the usual 3d-technique, but they kind pop out of the screen anyway!!! :tu: :tu: :tu:

this is a excellent idea muvlo... maybe you could provide us with a noted script on oh to do this and maybe a pair of 3d glasses..lol
I have 3D glasses!!! :D
These are too cool! What a great idea.
One could create a 3D comic scene and................. never mind...you didn't hear that idea.....um...I gotta go! :D

I'll have to dig up my red/blue glasses when I get home and have a look-see.
Another thing I'd like to do someday is to create 3d lenticular prints of some ZBrush images along these lines...
http://generation3d.free.fr/ Like the 3d post-cards that have the layer of striped plastic over them.
There used be a US-based service (www.3dhardcopy.com) that did this for $40 per print, but they seem to have gone bye-bye. All I can find now are services that do mass-production for big companies and I'm not a big company.

I've been tearing my recently-rearranged studio apart...I know I have some 3D glasses in here!!! What an interesting experiment, Muvlo! :tu: :tu: :tu:
(However a real good-guy would contact Pix, get the member list of the forum, and send us ALL 3D glasses!)
Love this with or without...

Thats a great idea, thanks for sharing it.
Dave.
Very well conceived, and executed.
Sorry, no 3D glasses for you all. I got mine out of a National Geographic on Mars a while ago. :D
However, as the Doc requested, here is a quick script:
Experience True 3D (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1007183353mxa.txt).
I'm glad you all enjoyed it! :)

Love it! I went through a 3-d Stereo phase a few months ago, was desperate for glasses and ended up making a pair of my own (too hard to find.) It never occured to me to do stereo in Zbrush. Good work! :D

Wow, I was able to locate my 3D glasses in less than 2 minutes. I've got a collection of them as they are not always the exact same color. Some are quite old and were distributed for the TV airing of the "Creature Of The Black Lagoon", that must have been more than 15 years ago!!
Enough ranting about the glasses, the picture is really nice. My favorite being the horse which has the most depth.
