View Full Version : New ZScript: Tiler
Simple ZScript that tiles a texture or an alpha on the canvas, in a given number of rows and columns.

You can also "flip" every other row and/or column:

And, you can use two textures to create a "checkerboard":

Since this ZScript works on both textures and alphas, you can create a tiled alpha to match your tiled texture. This is useful when you've grabbed a texture and an alpha from the canvas, and you want to tile both onto a 3D object:

... then you can use the matching alpha to mask and deform the object:

wow so many new toys and now that I switched
to WinZip all my downloads are working, very cool!
Hi Davey,
I was just playing with this new script, and it's great. The alpha grabber made this gridwork of brushsize dots, and then with the simplebrush and different textures turned on I made this image in about 5 minutes. I never realised until just now that you could paint this way. Thanks! This one and your other scripts are a lot of fun.

Nice looking stuff here Zoid. That was the thing that impressed me about that tiler script-how fast it made things happen.I think it might turn out to be one fo my favorites
Thanks, everyone. :)
Zoid, I'm glad I can show you a trick and trigger something that gets your imagination going in a new direction. Enjoy!
Rhom, I don't know how my humble ZScripts have helped you create the beauties you've posted, but man, they're impressive. Anything I can do.
Have fun, everyone!

hey davie i just would like to say to you...thanks... your making things fun in zbrush... not that they werent before but as a artist i do go through times without thinking of what i can do next, kinda like a artist block... and just when i cant think of anything i get something on this site that pulls me back in and cures me... thanks again
Thanks for the Script! :tu:
I'm kinda slow to figure these ZS's out, but I *think* I get this one! Certainly from seeing your examples and Zoids I can tell that these can make some pretty neato images.

I would like to edit and deform objects like the one that Dave has shown.
Can't seem to get it going.
Any help or links would be apperciated.
Thanks,
William :)
Hi William,
The key to this procedure is to use the MRGBZgrabber of a painted texture to capture the alpha part also. In tool>selection>alp you can apply this as a mask and then go to deform>size-xyz achieve this effect. Here is a quick and crude script that demonstrates this. My object ends up with very jagged edges, and I don't know why. Maybe someone else can explain this :)

I believe that you can't find it anymore
You can use the Stroke "Grid"
Or try this one Zplace2 by Cameyo (linked)
Very powerful and polyvalent
;)
Unzip it and place it in the folder Zscripts :)
For Use it : Menu Zcript / Load :)
Show action Disable
Launch it
Open "Array"
Have happy Zbrushing!
Ps Quasi all images of my "Galerie" are made with it !

Ali,
You might try the MapIt (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=22104) plugin which more or less deals with tiling texture with matched tiling alphas (and also, easy reorientation and application of the cylindrical, spherical and planar projection mapping already built into ZBrush).

Thanks for the tip Svengali.
I'll give them both a try. ;)
Zmapper rocks ,..normal maps and cavity is a piece of cake ...so why do people still bother with super slow displacement????
