View Full Version : New WIP: The Sentinel
Recently I've been wanting to model something different, not heads or bodies or landscapes. So this image just goes to show that not wanting to do a particular thing does not mean that you've automaticly found good subject matter. Oh well. ;)

Very nice throne ! I agree with the facination with heads, and game type models. It is indeed good to see fresh ideas being done, and very well I must add, and posted for us to enjoy. Congratulations :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

great image for one, Muvlo, but i have a question - Is that all one polymesh? i mean, is a polymesh that complicated possible to do? i'd like to know...anyway, great toilet...this'll be a terrific pic when you've finished.
thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the nice comments! :)
Heh Stonecutter, I have yet to figure out where to go with it... ;)
Cool tools there EZ, simple yet realistic.
Hi Doc. The modeling, which I explain below, is very basic actually. I used the ~ scroll and a few basic shapes to make a floor texture which I applied with a repeat to a plane. Added a bit of fog, and that left me at my present stage. Needs walls, accesories...
Glad you liked it Deevee and Kathy. (Throne? Hahaha. :D)
Jibberish, no it is actually mostly made up of very simple tools. I used for example, a squashed torus for the seat, a cube for the tank, and a sphere for the lid. I modified a few tools, a sphere for the bowl, a gear for the black rubber thing, but its mostly basic primitaves. The overall poly count is (I think) not very high, so I think a polymesh could hold all of it.

Anything, apparently, is potential Zbrush material! Great model! The floor texture works well. Matter of fact, I wouldn't mind that tile/color on my floor! :tu: :tu: :tu:
LOL. When I read the title, I kept my mind open to expect most anything -- but this STILL wasn't in the realm of possibility. :)
Very nice modeling and texturing. After many hours of contemplating this appliance from just this angle after a night out on the town ;), I can say that you've captured the details perfectly. Now I'm wondering what you have planned for the rest of the project...?
(Kidding about the drinking, but the sentiment is true!)

Hi Muvlo, I too was wondering about the title - I guess the "Sentinel" is still to come ? :) ?
It looks great & yes I too sometimes fog our bathroom ;)

Heh, thanks everyone! :) I'm glad my toilet has --hmm-- brightened your day. ;)
It'd be fun to see some more things like this if any of you have burning desires to create Kleenex boxes or...
Well I'll leave that to your imaginations. :)
