I'd like to introduce you my brand new character. It seems I'm not able to make slightly moist lips...... :( http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1006815671lys.jpg

Well, you're blowing me away, Mari!!
This is wonderful, and totally different from your last post...I feel priviliged to be a member of a forum that contains such a fertile imagination!

Nice Neo-Japanese figure, and the primary colors emphasize the model, which is fantastic...Fine image!

I like this fella. Well modelled :tu: :tu:
You can find some information on lips in the Quick links section. Check it out by going to the link at the top of the page.
Again: well done!

Looking really great! I love the patterns on the face -- such great detail. You're just turning out one stunner after another. :)

As far as the lips are concerned, as Stonecutter said you can get some really good info from the quick links. The short version is to save your main material and then reload it into another material slot (replacing a material that you're not going to use). Then change the specularity modifier to be a higher value and paint over the lips with M only and ZADD/SUB/CUT all turned off in the Draw palette. This way you'll only paint with your more specular material without changing color or depth.

Once again, :tu:!

hey great image. I love all the little details. Is that a real chinese/japanese character on the cheek, or did you make it up? It looks great either way.

Personally, I think the lips look great with this particular head. Because the whole head looks painted, I think the painted look on the lips is great. But of course, you'll still want to learn how to make specualar lips.

Hi all, here ìs my finished Samurai.
I imported hands from Poser and tweaked them in ZBrush, as I have no clue on how to model hands. The same I did for the sword, but it seems I cannot get a real metallic look... :(
Only postwork the sparkle in the eyes and my logo. And yes, the sign on the face is a real Japanese character that means courage.
Hope you enjoy.

Wonderful piece Mari! :tu: :tu: :tu:
Try textured metal for the sword blade, and don't give up...You can model hands. Part of the trick is, don't think of an open hand...
Instead, study your own hand doing what you want your depicted hand to do. Remember, you don't have to model what you can't see. Look at your hand from different viewpoints. You'll notice sometimes you don't even need fingers, just a suggestion of where your fingers are, and what position they're in.

Great image! :tu: :tu: :tu:

Digit's Widgets Of Various Sorts (http://www.cyber-webs.com/zbrush/Z-Tools.htm)

try this link from charming and helpful Digit's page. there's a hand and foot tutorial I once did. it's not much, but enough to get you going - I hope.

the modelling on this one is bloody exquisite, and the skin designs are very-very nice.

this is awesome, Mari!!! manymany :tu:s! very good pose and great expression! what a grim samurai!

did you solve the metallic look problem yet? am i getting it right, it is an imported .obj and you want to keep the handle wooden and make the blade metallic? i guess one way would be to simply paint the bladepart with simplebrush, zadd off, mrgb on, use a metalmaterial and some kind of blueish color. another approach would be to work on it with TextureMaster... in case your problem is of another kind, please let us know!
