View Full Version : How can you align alpha to stroke direction?

Is there anyway to align the alpha to the stroke direction? I'm trying to paint a weave pattern that follows a character's contours but the stamp the alpha pattern puts down is always at 90 degrees. I've tried the picker options which control orientation into the z plane but none of the controls seem to do this?
Thanks
John :p

Hi JohnArtbox :),
Try using the 3D DepthBrush with DragRect stroke type (you may want to turn ZADD off or set Draw ::Depth value to zero ). As you draw each instance, you’ll be able to control the orientation of the drawn alpha and when needed, activate TRANSFORM mode for fine control over orientation, size and placement.
Hope this helps ,

Thanks Pixolator, for the incredibly prompt reply.
I was hoping for something a bit more automated as I was trying to do a weave texture. I settled on using the old 3dcopy function and a weave texture.
It was for the bump texture shown in my texturing Animation Master Models post.
