Hi guys
I'm back from taking a break.
Let's start with the same wip-sculpt I've started my previous sketchbook with .

Hey Lucky_1,
This one turned out great. I really like the details in the nose and the form of the ears. Cool little character.

Tobbe, thanks man :) your portfolio is mindblowing...
Ruiz, thanks man, nice style you have...
this was just a quick (modo) render and some scribbles on top.
cheers!
I really don't like this avatar thing...if you guys don't give us a decent option to pick a permanent one...give us the option to choose none.
all cool and well but it's a thing about freedom, this is a forced (commercial) idea.

Bartoz, Mohamed thank you guys, very cool of you ! :)
I will sculpt a girl as soon as I can...I wish I could do this all day but sadly my reality is quite a different beast :)
Luc
Like the presentation :)
Did you solve the avatar issue?
Lucky_1
11-15-11, 09:23 AM
I know I've been beaten you guys to death with this dude :D so many thanks mate !
There's no real issue with my(the) avatar, but I don't like how the management has implemented this into ZBC.
I don't think it's cool to let the zbc participant jump through hoops to make use of an avatar - it even defeats its purpose.
I know that page views are important but...I just don't get it...and I rest my case.
Luc
Yes, I understand and agree. What I meant was if you managed to solve, it.
The reason I'm asking is because your avatar right now seems to be another one than the last image you posted :)
Lucky_1
11-16-11, 08:17 AM
ha ok...now I see...nothing to solve again :)
I have the choice to use a very small thumb which is so small that you hardly can show anything.
The other choice I have is to use always the same thumb-my avatar to notify(show) the people I've new/updated stoff.
It's clear that I've chosen the last option.

Excellent ... wonderful expressive face and eyes! :D
interesting render. I'm curious to see how it might look with some complimentary pinks and purples mixed in to the skin around the eyes, lips, and ears.

Awesome bust and render. :tu:
I could go for less environment lighting, adding SSS. If you'll keep the dark background I mean.
Almost perfect nice work, and i do agree with michalis.
i really like your works!

The frontal part of face and ears are perfcect imho, the horns and hair are where my eyes get stuck they feel to insubstatial.....
All in all much better than I have ever been able to accomplish ( the eyes just grab me....:tu::tu::tu::tu: )

michalis, thanks again man :) ! I guess you're saying to tune down the overall reflection ? I hope to give the background some color and texture.
Silo, thanks man :).
eduart, thanks man :)
blueferret, thanks man :) I agree , the horns have just a basic shader for now and his sideburns...I honestly don't know yet how I gonna attack them.
It's all about having fan man !

Just freakin awesome. I just don't think that makeup is read like you want it to. I would break up the maps internally aswell. varry the thickness of the makeup. maybe add flecks here and there.

Heya Lucky, it's a real pleasure to have more of your stuff appearing. My fave here is your first modo render - the sandy, matte texture of it is so appealing, as though he's painted himself in mud and it's dried in place. Without cracking, miraculously. It's the texture I think of when I see oil paintings by Brom (http://lcart2.narod.ru/image/fantasy/brom/brom_cyclops.jpg).
These renders are awesome man, reminds me I should get into a render engine... But as Zbrush rendering capabilities are getting more powerful I have hard time motivating myself to put in the time and money...
However, awesome stuff keep it up! :D

Thank so much friends for the nice comments :)
Maarten, I've bought modo, like I don't know like 1.5 years ago but this is only my second project I used it for...you only learn an application when you actually use it I guess.
and I really like modo.
Cheers Buddy!
branduarte , thanks mate :)
chalkman, thanks again David :) cheers :)!
Moga, thank you, I've pushed the sss a little more.
Fábio, thanks man:)!
cascardi, thank you :)!
Framedworld, thanks mate :), I didn't like the reflection it had.
bakedbeing, thanks man...I like the render too.I Hope I 'll be able to recreate it in the future :).
Santis, thanks buddy :) Yes I agree Zbrush is getting there ! Great renders are already outthere.
Her's the final one:
Hope you guys like him.

Cool work. I'd be curious to know more about your modo workflow/set up if you were so inclined to share. I've recently switched to modo and am planning to do a character render like this at some point in the near future.
I really like your presentation sheet/image too.
Looking forward to more work from you......

edit :removedDoggy 7 and papagersi, thanks guys :) I was actually just playing with fibermesh ... the material is original made by Adam Lewis for sculptris and converted and posted here by Eidan if my memory serves me right(thanks again guys :)). I've attached it here.
David, thanks man :) haha...I believe it was 250 years of hard road and he still is looking for a cure for the time he got zombified like 50 years ago haha.
edit : removed
Later guys :)
Hi Lucky_1, here is the link to Eidan's post (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?98489-Adam-Lewis-new-matcaps&p=761909&viewfull=1#post761909) with the complete set of Adam Lewis matcaps.

Lucky_1
03-12-12, 12:06 PM
Rick, thanks so much man :), as everybody else here I'm a big fan of your work.
The models you made for -the curious case of Benjamin Button- movie are just mindblowing.
Yep, I use Goz all the time and I love it ,a big time saver. The texturing was done in 3dc.
Cheers :)
