Well Ken, this is a new level of strangeness...Personally, I'm glad you don't have them out of your system yet, because I have been really enjoying this series...
It's strange but this guy almost has a sense of tranquility to me in his expression, and I think that is why this works so well for me. It might all be in my mind, but that's the feeling I get from his expression...
As Vikki said, that background texture is excellent...If you just posted that, it would be an interesting image, but with this 'Fluid Dude' in front of it...Well
A topologically folded :tu: to this one, fer sure!!!
thank you guys,
Stonecutter, were you at the fridge? You are usually the first to post a comment on my weekend images.
The tranquil expression is deliberate, so I'm glad it came through. With such "violence" happening to his head, I didn't want it to appear as if it was literally being shot off. Any intense expression might have led to that assumption.
Other than that, I don't really know the what or why of this image.

Nope Ken, I live on a sailboat, my studio a 15 minute walk away, and I have nothing but video and gaming equipment on my boat...
Since I'm at my studio everyday, with my computer on, I guess I'm just lucky enough to see them earlier than most... :D
How did you execute that background? It's like high-tech panelling, 25 years old, in a Klingon kitchen...

Ken, this has to be one of my favorites of yours. What draws me in most is the composition. It's as if this red hed doesn't want to be a part of it. He's on the right side. Head is turning towards the right. Heck, I have a feeling he may have even been looking right (his left) just before they test fired that shuttle rocket in the wind tunnel he's apparently standing in. Yet, he does his best to make the picture complete by filling up the empty space with his flesh.
Ahhh, so satisfying...

The background was pretty simple:
A 3D plane was positioned with a bump metal material. the groves in the paneling were done with the line stroke type, and the rivets are obviously just spheres -- actually one sphere that was snapshot around the canvas.
The coloring was several images of metal, positioned and blended. Some minor hand painting too.
Thank you for the comments.
Awesome image, Ken :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:
