View Full Version : New York, New York
I have been out of it recently for a few reasons, mostly too much work, no free time. But also I've been a little down about recent events. This past Thursday was an especially sad day. I have been stuck on the idea of a memorial. Trying to remember something that is completely gone. These three images are in that theme. As usual I have been playing with some unusual techniques.

Josh, I wouldn't characterize what you're doing here as playing in any sense...These are Brilliant, and are Art of great skill in anyones' book, unless they're laboring under a genetic disadvantage of an esthetic nature...
A monstrously huge, and dimensionally folded :tu: to you, Bud...Wonderful works... :)

These are terrific Zoid. It shows that your using art as an outlet of emotion. And that is the best type of art in my book. Congratulations on your stunning peice, and keep your head up. Rock on my friend.
very very impressive, the second image is articulary apealing, the pieces ot the composition are very segregated, but the image as a very strong sence of unity and texturing is awesome ::
I like your work, the first pic have

Excellent work! It's invidious to choose, but I too think the second image is the most powerful and effective. Beautiful memorials to a day that beggared belief. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Fantastic stuff Zoid, there's an Escher like feel about these pieces  :tu:
Zoid, These are wonderful pieces, you captured the day, the aftermath, along with thoughts and emotions of many. Each piece brings you to its own spot of the tragedy.

Thank you for expressing these, they are truly emotional of loss and yet of the strength to endure.
Wow. Great abstracts. I especially love #2 and #3 -- not sure which one's my favorite, though. The combinations of shapes are very dramatic. They have a finished-but-unfinished kind of quality that's really intriguing.
Great images, Zoid :tu: :tu:

Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments. I was worried that it might seem that I was using this tragedy to showcase my own creations. I don't have any message though, I just wanted to show how things can influence what you create. Christos, your comment is interesting, in the days after the 11th there were people in uniforms everywhere and flags on everything and a great sense of helplessness in the air, so that's what influenced the second image. I'm also interested in unfinished looking compositions and the kind of tension that it gives. At what point is something considered 'finished'?
Thanks again everyone, Peace.
Wow! Incredible art here Zoid!! They really clearly tell a story of humans and architectual structures, with a sad overall sence of the tragedy.
Visual poetry.
