Here's the first full peice i've done in zbrush. i'm starting to get the hang of the program. I don't use anything else right now. it's the first time i've worked in 3d and the you didn't have to get around the program's quirks to make excactly whaty you would have drawn. BRAVO!!!

:b4: edit: this said, here are my suggestions: i think that according to the umbrellas position, its pole would reach in from left to right and not the other wy round. this might add to the composition of the image, too. furthermore i would try to make the shape of mrs. magrites left knee more visible, if lightsettings interfere with the materials ones i recommend giving it a try with a slightly varied (diffuse mostly) clone of the other knees material. otherwise: perfection, imho :)

hey everyone,
i appreciate the feedback.
TheNamek: Thanks for putting those up. I have to try and keep the size down before i transfer from my mac to cd for the cyber cafe(PC's). I have one more to send ya
juandel: you're right. opps..my bad actually did try and turn it around the other way. i have to put some more stuff back there to hold it up. maybe some more baskets or a stew cooking :)
Frenchy Pilou: Thanks for the welcome.
The figures rising from the sand are actualty made from z-spheres. the material is the basic material with noise turned up a bit. bump up alot. i used the studio light settings in the links below. The material also has a high diffuse value.
Crisis: The clouds where made using the sphere brush. I just kept building up and then using the blur tool on the clouds further back. i'll try and put together a few shots to post tomorrow for anyone whose interested.
Thanks everyone else for your comments. i think this is the best 3d tool i have come across for creating models textures and art. I'm a softimage xsi user and i own a few other 3d programs (max, lightwave). but like i said before. this is the first time i actually can draw and make my stuff in 3d (fast). to anyone that's starting out and might be frustrated ...hang in there. i didn't get alot of how the tools worked for at least 2 months and am still learning. I can't wait to see what animation capabilities pixologic is cooking up :D :)

I usually open my zbrush images in photoshop afterwards for resizing and saving to a smaller file...
