Hey, here's my first ZB head, cleverly titled "Old Guy." Modeling with ZBrush sure is fun! :D

Now the question: I'm using a mildly modified version of one of the Southern Flesh materials for the skin (whee!). I'd like to begin adding other details to the base skin, but I'm not sure how to proceed. Am I correct in thinking that I have to somehow change the material to a texture map so that I can then paint on it? Do any of the plethora of available tutorials cover this?

Thanks!

First, go to the Texture pallete's Inventory menu and set a pretty large width and height for your new texture. I recommend around 1000x1000 to 2000x2000. Don't press the "New" button, though!

Instead, make sure that your Draw palette is set to MRGB and then go to the Color palette and click "Fill Object." This creates a new texture with the material info embedded in it. Next, use TextureMaster to add your additional details.

You can also do everything from within TextureMaster. The tutorial that comes with it will show you how to include material information in the texture or transform it to color instead.
