dragon seems to go with zbrush very naturally! mainly the alphas of glen southern, also!everything zspheres, excep^the little mountain and sky, vue 4; friendly M.( ps FP: always a little rockwellian, as soon as the feet are in that position!) http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200303/user_image-1046796335khj.jpg

Very nicely done ,marcel.
You've given the slain beast a very good pose/expression.
His skin has a cool slime effect to it.
judging by that guy's gun , this happened in the old days :)
You sure seem to do a lot of painting on your zbrush works.
Did you import the zbrush objects in Vue Or did you use the vue picture as a background and painted the shadows ?

merci namek! ;) the background is just done in vue, then add in photoshop; no shadows on it; the ground is a plane 3d; i paint often the shadows, cose i feel often taht zbrush shadows can be enhanced; it's not a problem, i prefer a lot like that:less shadows by the computer and add where necessary, than the opposite, too much shadows and substract!friendly M.

That's a big one that didn't get a way. A Dragon Gun...interesting concept. Couldn't help but notice but did you by chance use the same base figure that you used in your Peter Pan pic? It's a good reuseable tool!

Wonderous journeys circa 1890. A follow up would be lovely with him in his gentlemen's drawing room + the Dragon's head hanging as a wall trophy. Lovely composition. :tu:

another gem, Marcel! kudos on whatever you posted these last few days! to me this guy looks like the grandfather of Major Grubert (http://www.bdoubliees.com/metalhurlant/series4/majorgrubert.htm) of Moebius fame :)

Hi Juandel
You are a great connoisseur of the french comics :)
It's entierly right : Major Grubert(or Major Fatal)
but "retired" on the marcel's photo (White hairs) :D
Moebius has made some landscapes in your Alpha century style and Arzach (http://images.google.fr/images?q=arzach&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=fr&btnG=Recherche+Google) as some birds as Ken B or yours.
Ps "C'est la guerre M. Gruber", a book of Jacques Sternberg :)
And don't miss my reference of this "Jacques Sternberg" "Dictionnaire des idees revues"at (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010367) it's a rare book with a dictionnary and reproductions of illustrators (all century) engraving !
Jacques Sternberg is a great editor and writer non orthodox :)
His particularity : just run on Solex (http://images.google.fr/images?q=solex&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=fr) motor bike :)
Pilou

Wonderful work as always Marcel, inspiring posts indeed!.

Just a small thing tho. Maybe its just me but I can't understand from where the strong blue in the characters shaded sides comes from, since the sky is so murky and so is the backround..for some reason it just jumps out at me :).

:) hello! moebius-giraud is of course the great GREAT priest of my generation of illustrators, but in this pict there is also a great favorite for me: victorian first photographies, particularly of indian part of the empire, with this particular blend of straight looked aristocrat and surrealistic surrounding; boozie has a fine add at my way of thinking picts, saying"wonderous day circa 1890 etc"; when Moeb create major grubert, in garage hermétique, i think there is the same "taste" for this"photos lost world". MG you're (sadly) right, i first intend to put the scene in deep forest, where this blue light was possible, but too much green was not good, i change the sitting, making one another in vue, but didn't go again in the process of lighting each part(dragon and man are in 7 parts);sob!!! on an another popint of view , it 's not the same head than the pirat, but the computer screen is small! friendly M.

You are on a roll Marcel. You, Ken Brillian, Pixolator and Southern are the masters of Zbrush.
