After having, literally, no inspiration of any kind for a fair while, I chose to start playing about with the 3dcopy function for texturing. Something I hadn't done prior to this. And, since TextureMaster does not/will not run on my computer, I thought it's high time I explored Zbrush a might more in depth.
Here is the result, so far. Suggestions or just smart-a** remarks are welcome :D http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1006538677kjc.jpg

An update: decided against any kind of headgear. Had to back track a bit, redo the head to get the mouth. Seems to me, those eyes will need redoing as well - positioning is off. Ah well, I'll have to keep poking away at it. As "updates" go, this one's a bit of a butcher job.

the texture master wont work on your computer OR the version your using? try the new 123B demo http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002377

Nice!I like the neck and the position of the head. The shape of the back of the head is cool.

Coming along nice!
You might try playing with the color bump slider, under material modifiers...could give you a better idea of your material texture, and whether you actually need a different texture or not!
Nice start, though! :tu: :D :tu:

looking good there. ironically, i was reading about the 3Dcopy function in the manual, but coun't make heads or tails of it. hopefully down the road or in the "texture" chapter things will make more sense. now why doesn't texture master work on your system? just curious, i haven't used TM yet, but hopefully it wont be a problem for me since it seems to be a great tool.

:D Yeah, the more I look at it, the more I like it as well, stonecutter. I think I will pursue it, as it was the original concept. I allowed myself to get sidetracked - which is alright: got that second mess out of my head. Now, perhaps I can concentrate on the first idea - the "warrior" outfitted with headgear, as though ready for battle on some toxic field...

Hi filament9 - this is progressing nicely - good to see a large version. The headgear is great and indeed looks like he is wearing, chomping on them - the eye is quite Southernesque (a high compliment :)

I look forward to the finished image.

Here he is. Some notes on the headgear:
Attached permanately by embedding devices into the bones of the skull; this is done without the use of any pain deadening drugs.
A test, or rite of passage. Withstand what must be absolute agony, and the young would-be warrior becomes a full warrior. Many perish during this procedure. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1006996307awh.jpg
