View Full Version : Poser in ZBrush
Hi everybody, at last I purchased the commercial version of ZBrush.
My idea was to morph some characters that I made in Poser and exported as .obj files.
It seems I'm missing something as I don't have any control over the image I Import (no face but full body).
What I mean is that it is not quite like working on the default sphere, even if i keep the brush very small (1 or 2), it is always too big.
I hope I made myself understood.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I just bought ZBrush as well, and have been playing with using ZBrush for head morphs. I've noticed the effect you are talking about. It seems that Poser models are at a lower resolution than the default models in ZBrush. I don't think you can safely change the H and V Subdivide with the model because you change the number of points from the original model. The best luck I've had is by changing the view mode to dots (in Preferences) and using larger brush sizes to get the basic idea of the morph, and then using a finer brush to correct jagged lines. Haven't quite perfected the technique yet, so there may be a better way to do it.
My learning project has been to take Micheal head and make a "Cardassian" head morph. I'll post the results if I can get something I'm happy with.
Thanks

Hey Maga,
To be honest I'm not 100% sure what you mean. (sorry). Maybe you could check that the MAX BRUSH SIZE slider (preferances palette) is not set too high?
Check out Southerns Poser tutorial (http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/demo/posertutorial/tutorial.htm), and ZuZu's Quicklinks (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000049) has a section of Poser links to tutorials.
Good on you for buying ZBrush. Keep posting and show us your work.
Bye!

Hello Maga Sis!
Now we can do Z together also...makes great heads.
When doing morphs for poser the Z intenisty should be set very low.
That will give you much more control over the deformation of the features.
Here's a screen cap for you...
