View Full Version : Heeeere fishy ... fishy (Final)
This is a piece of a work that I'm doing. It's a work in progress. :D I worked on this quite a bit and then just now see that I've forgot the front fins... so I'll have to redo that...no spots yet of course. I think that'll be in the final image and eyeballs of course. I think maybe his snoot needs to be a bit longer too.

Neat fish! Yeh, his snout does need to be a bit longer, otherwise he will end up lookig like a light coloured small mouth bass! (Actually that wouldn't be too bad either.)
Look forward to seeing the finished work!

Neat piece of fish modelling. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Nice modelling Vikki. I like your attention to detail: the underside, which is probably unlikely to appear as part of a final image, is nonetheless very accurate. :tu: :tu:
Very nice (and realistic) fish!! Great job of modeling!!
Thanks for the comments. :D
Here is an update...but I think now I'm gonna need to make my own alpha for the scales... :D and so some more tweaking.

Very impressive work Vikki. I like these images a lot.
oooo vikki! The spots turned out perfect!! Great job on these!
These are trout, right? If so, then you've got it wasy for the scales alpha -- trout don't have scales. ;)
Very nice WIP! It looks like you're having fun, and that's what's important!

No scales, well, that will certainly speed this right along! :D
Ok, here it is, ...they are, the finals...I couldn't decide which one I like better so I decided to keep both. :D

Nicely modelled fish you have there, as for the final composition, I prefer the murkiness of the second image.
Well done! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :)
Wow! well done Vikki! I like them both. The clarity of the water in the first one reminds me of the clear waters in the Caymans. However, image # 2 is as it exists in most other places. I think it is a toss up! :D :D :tu: :tu:
Excellent modeling! Really well done! :tu:
I dunno, but I would have to pick number 2 for the depth cue, nice affect.
I like the first one though. Reminds me of the lake fishing back in IL. (course, I know Trouts aren't there, but the water values look JUST like my grandpa's lake.
:tu: :tu: :tu:
Great job on the final image Vikki :tu:
I like the second one. The coloring gives more of a sense of being underwater.
I would recommend editing the title of the post to say final or finished. I almost missed the great job you did.

I like both of these for different reasons, Vikki...I think the first one is more realistic in tone, but I like the atmosphere of the second one...Actually, to me as a Pacific Coast kinda guy, I have to say I can see elements of Salmon in these. Nice job, Kiddo! (On all of them!)
:tu: :tu: :tu:  :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thanks for all your comments and thanks Tami for the title tip. :D
Stonecutter...as a Pacific Coast kind of gal...the first one kind of looked like the ocean to me and then the second like one of the lakes near here in late summer when all the algae is growing. :D
Scrummy fishys(but heads n' tails yuck!), the second pic is my favourite too, those fish really look like there swimming. :tu: :tu: :tu:
Hi Vikki, I have been studying these images for several hours and I just realized why, Your fish all have a happy smile on their faces.
I wish I could get some of what they are simling about. :D :D :D :D

Yes, my vote goes for number two as well. The water with the green algal bloom is excellent. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Vikki, I am now in love with you.. :) now only can you make the fish, you can catch em and cook em.....and truly from the bottom of this fish slayer's heart you did a good job on the second image....and I am right clickin and saving it...very nice underwater atmosphere....I was getting worried at first when you first made the model...with those teeth...snicker..that was scary, coz I could not see myself lipping one of those and liftin it out of the water....very nice work :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: but I have to teach ya how to bait a hook..snicker..wink wink...(just kidding) :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: keep up the great work you are doing....you are growing
Hehehe! Ron!
Threadin a worm in Z is a little different than real life and my marshmellows were not turning out looking like marshmellows...the Pautkzes were ok but what's a *trout ****tail* without the marshmellows and a correctly threaded worm? hehehehe!
DeeVee, always have to have a smile...they know they're special cause they were created in Z. :D

It's amazing what you can do with a fish these days!! Hee Hee.
Seriously though - great work, neat fish I like the different treatments you gave them!
My favorite is the last one, the greens are really deep sea like. Cool!

The one with the green of the water works best I think. Very good work on the fish models Vikki. :tu: :tu: :tu:
I love the underwater scenes, but as I'm hungry at the moment my favorite is the one in the frying pan. :D :tu: :tu: :tu:
