what did I do?

this model I was working on last night...well I went to paint him and he wont let me paint him...I can paint but its not the color I want..comes out silver..no matter what I set the intensity to.....and I saved and reopened it but to no avail.... :(

you said it comes out silver?
i think your painting with the chrome or silver looking(MATERIAL)
