Hello folks, this is part of my first large project in Zbrush. It is a chandellier that will be a part of a larger work. As you can see it was made with Zspheres. I am going to have to wait until next week when I get my new computer before I can finish the project as this computer now isn't able to support the size or the layers I want to use.

I may decide to use different crystals or hanging adornments and I may give it some more texture in the finished work.

Thanks in advance for taking a look and offering any comments you may have.

Great Stuff! Very decorative ZSphere work. I think crystals would be a nice touch. Can't wait to see the final image. :tu: :tu:

Nice work - I particularly like the teardrop pendants.

Looking good. Exciting news about your new and improved pooty that's coming. :tu:
Northstarr :) The best advice I have about buying a new computer in regards to Zbrushing and graphics in general, is not the CPU or even RAM, although the type of RAM counts - it's the graphics card. So make sure you get a good graphics card on the system, it will speed you up wonders. :) :tu:
The Geforce 3 is a great save, value for your money with the newest Geforce 4 well out and about now. If you're looking for something in between, the ATI Radeon 8500 card is a good alternative and it has some nice features.
You can get away with a lower end pentium alot more often when dealing with graphics and games if you have a good graphics card. :)
Nice work on the chandelier, interested on the take. :)
Loopy loop. Dont get a good graphics card unless you have a good cpu to back it. I Geforce4 cant realize its potential with a 1GHz proccesor.

Thanks guys for the tips re: computers etc. But I think I have it covered. Graphics card is ATI 9000. And processor is P4, 2.4 ghz. 333megs of RAM and 80gigs of drive space. I am getting rather excited! :D

Hi Zbrushers
Don't be delude by the power of an engine :)
(I have just a Cyrix 166 !!! 32 Megas ram Window 95, Matrox Mystic ) and that's fine :)
Bravo for Pixo Team !

Sorry to hijack the thread with more discussion of PCs, but ...
I'm thinking of getting a new beast to replace my 450MHz Pentium II. Any comments on my currently planned configuration would be welcome - especially if anyone sees any problems lurking with respect to graphics work (not animation or games, and I know it will easily handle my other needs). Key components include 3GHz Pentium 4 chip with an ASUS motherboard, 1024Mb PC2700 DDR RAM (333MHz), 22" Mitsubishi DPlus 230 monitor, 128Mb ATI Radeon 9700 graphics card, 200Gb hard drive with 2Mb buffer, Sony DVD RAM/R - CD-RW multi-burner drive.

Frency, we all have different needs, Zbrush isn't the only program I use and there will be more in the future. I want to produce (eventually) quality graphics that are up to printer's specs. There is no way in #$%* that I can do that on my old machine. What may work well for you certainly wouldn't meet my needs.
Mr. Flycatcher, your plans sound good to me, it seems to have everything you would need, pretty similar to mine except I am jealous now, because I can't afford a 22" monitor. Waaaaaah!
Go for it!
Razorx, don't be so surprised, at its unveiling of the G4, the platform was a 1Ghz Pentium while running a demo of a werewolf in full lighting (with fur) and it runs smoothly on even less powerful systems. :)
The processor difference is only minimal when stacked against the performance benefits from a good graphics card.
Truth is, your card is independant from whatever boost your CPU will give you. It's not a loopy loop specialty wise, if you're building for games and/or graphics - the juice is in the hardware acceleration.
Office use, go for general Mhz. :)
Plus these days, most every option gets dumped to hardware acceleration, even cursor movement so don't overestimate the Pentium CPU in relation to the significance of the polygon spindling of a good card. And if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty, the Athlon processors tend to outperform the Pentiums in gaming but at that rate, why not buy a Macintosh. :D
Northstarr and Flycatcher, I think you guys have generally overpowered systems :) which should cover you well in the long run and well into next year. :tu:
I also forgot to mention, memory speed is also important for such large amounts. :)
