I can't figure out what's going on here and it's driving me nuts.

I've followed the tutorials in TextureMaster Rev G and am having the following problems.

If I select a 3D Tool such as the sphere and use TextureMaster everything seems to work out just fine. However, If I create an object via the MultiMarker tool (lets say a sphere that has been shaped into a head with spheres added for eyes, decoration, etc.) and I convert this object to a polymesh and export it I get different results. When I import the polymesh object (which is now an .obj file back into ZBrush and use TextureMaster I get bizarre rusults. For example, if I try to paint it only part of it will be painted and the rest refuses to accept the paint. Or, in another case the entire object will accept paint but it shows up on the front and the back even though I don't have the B+F button pushed on TextureMaster.

I assumed that the part that refused to accept paint was masked so I tried to clear an invidible mask but that didn't do any good either.

Que pasa?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,

Diagosing problems is easier if you post visual examples of the problems. I guarantee you someone here will have a quick solution as to what is causing your difficulties. Many have been there before you!

It sounds to me like you need to apply, under TOOL/TEXTURE, new mapping (AUV or UUV) to your imported model before beginning to paint with texture master.

Svengali,

Your suggestion was absolutely on point. It fixed the both problems. For some reason I thought that when an object was created in ZBrush it automatically had a UV Map applied to it. I didn't realize you had to assign one afterwards.

I agree that I should have posted some graphical examples of the problem I was running into and I thought about that after I'd posted but I wasn't at home and couldn't get back to my computer to fix the problem until today. I've never posted any graphics on this site before. I guess it's about time that I learned how.

Anyhow. Thanks for your quick response, you were dead on. I appreciate your help.
