View Full Version : Rocky Coast (UpDate)
Just another doodle trying to perfect my wave creation technique, plus a few refinements here and there. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1025787840wfb.jpg
This is an update with the suggestions made. I am still undecided as to which image is the more complete. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1025830612lzk.jpg

The man calls it a doodle! Looks great GMDV!! Only thing I can see that might need a little tweaking is the edge transition between the rocks and water on the inside part of the picture. :tu: :tu:

Constant growth DeeVee, that's what I see with each image. The rocks are very well done. The water amazes me! Some post work on the rock/water transition is worth looking into. But overall, this is very good work!
Thanks for your comments.
Mentat and Filament:
I appreciate your suggestion, however if the rocks over hangs the water, how do you show a transition? Rocks do over hang the water especially on coral islands, from the angle that this image was drawn I do not know how I can show a transition between water and rocks when it cannot be seen.
Ron:
This is just an exercise, I have no plans to carry it any further at this time.
Plus I am not feeling too well at this time so I do not know how much time I can spend on this forum.
Wonderful image. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Looks great Deevee. All the different things you have come with for landscapes amaze me. The only suggestion I could make for this is a tiny bit of white cap on the edge of the wave. Can't wait to see what you come with next :)

sorry to get into here, but here is a very green :D rocky coast (seen from a very quiet seaside) inspired by your :tu: :tu: :tu: depth-brush rock "doodles", DeeVee. for the rocks i used a default texture and played with different constant stroke-orientations (to avoid them to pop sidewards during a stroke). this can be done by clicking into the topmost icon in the picker-palette and - without releasing the mousebutton - adjusting the stroke’s direction. i never realized i could adjust the direction by stirring around in the icon until i saw jelees :tu: :tu: :tu: pic on making fire here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005428&p=2) and tried to get it look like in his screenshot :D
water is a gelshader plane i treated the way you showed us here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005924), with transparency increased and flatten layers off in render palette to make it a seethrough, then playing with the default lights (before and while bestrendering) :D

It's a bit like those puzzle pictures you sometimes see in magazines - you know the kidn: "Spot the seven differences between these two pictures". Well, I can only see a couple, but who cares? Both versions are GREAT.
And thanks Juandel for a very different but very atmopheric water study.
There's just something about rocks and water... :tu: :tu: :) :tu: :tu:
FC there are not too many differences, I just tried to impliment some of the suggestions made, so they would mainly be at the rock water interface.
