View Full Version : Around the world?...oops
Well, my balloon landed short of making it all the way around the world...looks to be stuck in there...seems the fog hampered visibility and they had to set down... :D

A little heavy on the brightness and a little soft on the contrast...what fun this is...I think I better think of something else to do for a little while or I'll get booted from the forum for "spamming with terrains"...hehehe!

Nice one, Vikki... :)
Really like the atmosphere you got. I think the soft contrast is fine, and suits the image. :tu: :tu: :tu:
I like the overall effect of the picture. The water surface and reflections are outstanding!

Good job, I like the fogginess of the pic.
Just beautiful, I like the looking of the water and the terrain and the fog and I like all. Very good job. :tu:
The reflection on the water is mezmerizing!
The color scheme to absolutely peaceful, just like the lake.
Wonderful. :tu:
Thanks all for the great input. :D
It was fun creating it.
Whoa! Awesome textures! And how in the world did you do that Water?? Killer
Hey LXIX!
Well, I wish I could say that the water was planned that way. It actually is a *random accident* :D
It started with the water I did on one of my first terrains postedhere (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001312&p=3).
I was trying to reproduce that water and ended up with what you see. All it really is is when you do the first part of Pixolators terrain tutorial...leave where you want water without a lot of height in the terrain. I do that by using an alpha with a very large brush size, say around 80, with a low ZIntensity say around 25 and then click and move and click and move so I just get a little raised effect on the canvas.
On the image above I also used some other alphas (sorry I can't remember which ones) with ZSub to move around the lower terrain in what I did in the step above around.
Then I used the colorizer brush instead of the simplebrush and with varying opacities applied color following the terrain across the *water* which allowed the terrain to show through so it looked like water kind of. ;) I don't know what I did in this one to lose the *glassy watery* effect that I had more of in the image linked to above. And I also liked (although faint) the ripple effect more in the first one.
I'll keep working on reproducing it...and if I do I'll write it down this time (slapping head :o )...and then perhaps if you're interested I'll post it here.
