‘Afternoon all . . . :)
I thought I'd post a little information about one of the areas of the recently released "Texture Master" Zscript. If anyone is interested, please read on. Heheheh. :D
To the right of the Main Texture Controls at the bottom of the screen, you'll see two boxes filled with little squares. The first box contains two arrows, one on top & one on the bottom. If you select a color in the main "Color Selector" window & then click on the top arrow you'll transfer that color to the 1st box with all the little squares, just below the top arrow. You'll also notice that you'll get a varying degree of "Blend Colors" from your original selected color, 27 in all. "This is a great function in Zbrush, or any other graphics program, if it has this function?" Now if you select another color from the main "Color Selector" window & then click on the bottom arrow, you'll transfer that color to the color box, just above the bottom arrow. If you notice now, the blend factor starts from the 1st little square - through 27 different blend variations - to the last little square, using the two colors you selected. You select your start color - ( top arrow ), and your end color - ( bottom arrow ), & the "Texture Master" automatically gives you 27 different shades of your chosen colors to work with. One great example of this would be: Let's say you were working on an animal of some kind, & the base color was a Blue Grey. After selecting your 1st & 2nd colors & clicking the appropriate arrows, you get 27 variations of that Blue Grey color, to work with. Now you can use these different colors for texturing your object. Lighter colors for lighter areas & darker colors for darker areas, or how ever you want to apply the colors. To me this is a wonderful feature for saving time, & also, now I don't have to guess at which shade of color I need by using the "Color Selector" window, with this new "Texture Master" Zscript everything is done for you. ;)
In the 2nd box, you'll see a dark Red button, ( with a "C" on it ), & 4 small boxes going down. To the best of my knowledge, this is a "Color Picker Tool" & "A Color Storage" area, If I'm wrong someone from Pixologic will correct me? If you place your cursor over any color anywhere on the screen, then press the "C key" you'll see your picked color transferred down to the 1st little box just underneath the Dark Red button. You can do this up to four times & have those 4 colors saved in the 4 little boxes, if you choose another color, the bottom saved color disappears. This is a great feature for working on an image & you can select the four most used colors at the time & you have them at your convenience, instead of moving your cursor all over the screen to find the needed color to work with. If you're done with a particular color, then you can select another one, & it's in the storage area to pick when ready. ;)
I hope some of you, after reading this will understand this portion of the "Texture Master" ZScript Tool a little better, & I hope it will make the work on your future projects a little easier. I also hope that I explained everything satisfactory? If there are any questions please ask & I'll try to answer them. Have a good one . . . Mark.
