View Full Version : Painting in Edit Object

I have a couple questions about painting while in Edit Object mode.

Am I really limited to one brush style when using Draw in Edit Object? It seems I cannot change brushes, I only have the simple brush.

Are there other methods than using the direction of the face normals when painting, since sometimes this causes pinching and overlapping? I've tried masking and modifiers like Smooth to soften things out, but I'm hoping for an easier method.

Is there an easier way to rotate the model as I work? I'm using the Rotate deformation modifier, but I can't rotate the object around while I paint a mask, since the rotation only occurs on the masked area! Is there another way to navigate around the model while I'm painting a mask, like a "Rotate View" tool? Or perhaps a way to turn on/off the mask without clearing it?

My original post with more info is here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=007456).

Thanks for any help,

In your transform pallette, while in edit/draw mode, there is a profile graph which represents the shape of your draw brush. You can change the shape of your draw brush there.

To rotate the object while editing it, you can click on an empty spot on the canvas and move your cursor around, that will rotate your object accordingly. Your other option is to switch to rotate mode in the transform pallette and use the gyro.

I'm not sure if this answered all of your questions, but I hope this was helpful.
