ZLauncher ZScript allows you to store your favorite ZScripts in easily accessible
iconized list which may contain up to 100 ZScripts.
ZLauncher features...
:b2: Easy to configure and use. Clicking on an icon to assign or launch a ZScript.
:b2: Icons may be added, removed or modified at any time.
:b2: Utilizes the full width of the ZScript window.
:b2: Adjustable icon size.
After loading this ZScript in ZBrush, press the ZLauncher icon to learn about its functionality.

:b3: :b3: :b3: :b3: :b3: Click here to download the ZLauncherRevA ZScript (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/counters/increment-zscripts.cgi/ZLauncherRevA.zip?3utilities/ZLauncherRevA.zip) :b3: :b3: :b3: :b3: :b3:
The zip file contains two files that should be placed within your ZScript folder.
Note: The ZLauncherRevA.zsc <font color=#ffa000>should not</font> be renamed. Renaming this file will
not allow the ZScript to function properly.
:: :: ::<font color=#ffffff>AUTOMATIC LOADING OF <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>LAUNCHER</font> ZSCRIPT</font>
The <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launcher</font> is most effective when it is used as the default startup ZScript.
In order for the <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launcher</font> to be used as your default startup ZScript, you need to
rename the included "AutoZLauncherRevA.txt" file to "DefaultZScript.txt". If this
step executed properly, <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launcher</font> will automatically be loaded whenever ZBrush
is launched.
Have fun <font color=#FFa000 size=5>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launching</font> :)

::About startup ZScripts: There are several more variations of DefaultZScript.txt which
have been created and posted by ZBC members (the most recent ZScript posted by cameyo (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010072)).
These ZScripts offer alternative startup ZScripts with variety of features which you may want

Tnx a lot Pixolator!!! :D :tu: :tu:
This is fantastic! I just loaded it and it works great :tu: Some of my scripts load with question marks for icons though. Can you describe a simple way to make images for icons? Thanks.
Cool Beans!
Yes, please, how do we make icons?
ah! psd file with the same name as the zscript. I made one at 60x60 seems to look ok
Thanks again!
Edit -> I take that back, I was able to create one icon by utilizing the same name as the script that it called but I tried the same thing on a different script and I was not successful. Help! :)

This is pretty handy. Thanks.
Just a question regarding the texture thumbnails script. From what I can gather this script only allows you to alter the size of the thumbnails. It doesn't facilitate adding new textures to the palet, is this correct or am I missing something?
Thanks

When a ZLauncher button is shown as question-mark it indicates that assigned ZScript does not have an icon.
You may use one of the following methods when creating a ZScript icon...
1. Any image can be used as an icon for a ZScript, simply resize the image to 96x96 and save it in PSD format. The icon should have the same name as the associated ZScript with .PSD extension.
2. If the ZScript is a recorded-ZScript which draws in the canvas, you may ‘run’ the script and when it is done, grab the canvas image into the TEXTURE palette, resize the texture and export it as the ZScript icon .
3. Start a new ZBrush document with size of 384x384 pixols. Use ZBrush tools to draw your icon.
When done, bake the document and press the document ::half button twice in order to reduce the canvas size to 96x96. Export the document as a ZScript icon .
If you have added an icon for a ZScript that was created by you and the ZScript is available to download in ZBrushCentral, please upload the new icon (in this thread and/or in the ZScript’s original thread) to allow other members to make use of it.
Thanks :)

A very tastey and welcome addition indeed - will there be such a sweety for alphas also?
I can certainly make use of this . Thanks Pix.
For those of you who asked (or are thinking about) scripts to handle Alphas and other items:
:: ZList (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004002) lets you store Materials, Alphas, Textures and Tools.
:: MaterialPack (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003203) contains 100 materials.
:: MaterialList (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003263) lets you store 100 custom materials. Southern provides a FleshPack.
:: Alpha Manager (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003164) is an organizer by Southern, which also comes with a bunch of Alphas for various purposes.
I have run all of these scripts with version 1.55b without incident, and they are all loaded into my ZLauncher (which is my default ZScript thanks to the instructions by Pixolator).
Still more utilities and other scripts are available in the ZScripts section of the QuickLinks. Not all of them will run with version 1.55b, but I think you'll find enough to keep you very happy.
Have fun!
er, having a bit of a problem getting this to auto load on start up. I have both files in the zscripts folder, renamed the autolauncher.txt file to DefaultZscript.txt. When i start up it still defaults to the original "What New Etc." screen..Do i need to delete something?...Zbrush currently resides at the default location as well. C:\Zbrush_1.55B. Other than that, when I load it from the zscript tool bar it works great. Wish this was an icon on the tool bar.
D.T.
WONDERFUL !!!
Thank You Pixolator...
Only a small :) request...Can you show the .txt ?? ;)
Thank again.
cameyo
davidT, Verify that the file name is "DefaultZScript.txt" and it is located in the root of the "ZScripts" folder. You may also need to redownload the ZScript.

Aurick, I can't use the Material List you made for Stained Glass, however I can use Southern's Flesh (to the unitiated, that does sound so strange...). The only diff I can ascertain is that Southern's Panel says "rev a" while the stained glass says "rev b"
I copied both material lists the exact same way, twice even. Same results. No matter what tool I have chosen, no matter what material I have selected, none of the seven materials in the glass list works. Doensn't change the color or anything else. The catalogue button produces a wonderful solid black document with nothing in it.
Is there a step I'm missing, or is this a lost cause?
mr
Awesome script!!
Thank you for sharing, Pixolator.
I have a question as usual... :D
I'd like to use image buttons in my script.
(Brush stocker)
It would be very grateful, if you'll show me the way.
Thanks

Ok, I am running into a bit of problem creating an icon. I know it looks straight forward enough when reading it, but consider who you are dealing with here. I run the ZScript and do a grab. Resize the texture and export with the psd extension. When I alt click on the ZLauncher icon to add it, the script loads, but no icon. Is there something I am missing? Do we export to the same file the script is loaded into. If so, that is done. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :D
Hi D
1. The Icon you make must have the same name as the script, except it will have the PSD extension of course.
2. The Icon must be in the Same directory of the Zscript that it is for.
I think possiblyperhapsmaybe that your problem lies in #2
To make the whole thing easier use my Icon Widget (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010089)
here
Hope that helps

Digits: Thanks for posting your IconWidget ZScript (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010089) :)
Those who are interested in ZScripting may download the <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launcher</font> source code (.txt) by clicking in here (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1045521203sff.zip) .
Notes about the <font color=#FFa000>Z</font><font color=#FFFFFF>Launcher</font> source code:
1. The icons that are shown in the ZLauncher buttons are automatically extracted from each of the assigned ZScripts. This is a new ZScript feature that allows you to specify any of ZBrush's native formats (such as ZBR documents, ZTL tools...) as an image and ZBrush will automatically extract the embedded icon.
Example...
[Image,”A_Tool.ztl”] will display the embedded icon of the “A_Tooll.ztl” tool. This method can also be used for IButton command (which is what ZLauncher is using ).
2. The code includes a self-contained routine which asks user to confirm an action. This routine sets the ‘doConfirmedAction’ to 1 if user chooses to execute the action or to 0 (zero) if user chooses to cancel the action. This routine can be used ‘as-is’ in your own ZScripts when similar functionality is required.
Hope this helps :)
-Pixolator
P.S I am planning to write (when time permits) a new ZScript to have similar functionality to ZLauncher but with the added capability to include All of ZBrush file types (tools,lights,materials...). Meanwhile, the ZList ZScript offers similar functionality and it is available in here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004002)
This is great. I would love it, if...
But why does it look so funny on my 1.55b screen and not at all as you show?
And what means the "b" behind 1.55? Beta?
(I have the purchased version)
Thanks for your help :)

gabe: Here is why...
starting from the left icon...
Icon number 1 leads to a ZScript in ZSC format which was created for an iconless ZScript.
Icon number 2 Leads to an iconless ZScript in TXT format.
Icon number 3 Leads to TextureMaster revision E or earlier. You need to use the newer version of TextureMaster (revision F) which is already included with 1.55b.
Icon number 4 is the correct ZLauncherRevA icon.
You’ll find more information about creating icons in the previous posts within this thread.
The ‘b’ simply means that it is a newer version than 1.55 or 1.55a (including all 1.55R?).
Hope this helps :)

I just said that I understand, but in my 1.55b is only the textureMaster Rev E included, not F. Where can I find it?

I have already been at the Poxologic site, but if I click the Texture Master...F link, it goes to the 1.55 demo download page.

Well, I have just one observation about the Zlauncher. I spent about 3 hours loading it up with my favorite original, materials, textures, and tools. Alas when I went to use it, I noted that although all the thumbnails are there, some of the materials, and textures do not load. Any ideas as to why this might be?
Thanks.
Oh thanks you're right! Duh, ignore this post I put it in the wrong thread....

Do you mean the ZList http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004002
rather than the ZLauncher utility Northstar?
if so then I have the same problem. :(
gebe, the copy of TextureMaster that downloads with version 1.55b IS revision F. It is located in ZScripts\Utilities\TextureMaster.
There are a few possibilities:
1) You haven't yet upgraded to version 1.55b (which according to my database, you're entitled to do).
2) You are looking in an old ZScripts folder
3) After installing version 1.55b you copied your ZScripts folder wholesale from your older version, overwriting Revision F in the process. If this is the case, you'll need to open the downloaded archive again and re-extract the TextureMaster folder.
Since TextureMaster is now included in the downloads of both the commercial and demo versions of ZBrush, it no longer made sense to have it available for download separately. This is why the ZScript Library points to the demo download.
Thank Aurick. I found out why I could not find it. I have done a copy/past of my "old Zscripts" from 1.51 to the 1.55 folder. I have now reinstalled the right files and it works. Thanks again.
Now another question: I have created lots of thumbs and have a nice ZLauncher sitting on my screen:).
But when I click one of these scripts to follow it, the ZLauncher disapears. Is there a way to get it back without shoting down Zbrush and restart it?
Would really be nice.
Initialize ZBrush doesn' bring it back.
Guitta :(
Found (thanks Digits) the response to my new question about the call back ZLauncher:)

Hey Pixolator,
First off love the ZLauncher Script! Makes life a whole lot easier! May I suggest an idea for ver 2, that I think would make it an all-around-as-close-to-perfect-as-one-could-possibly-get-script?
Can you add the ability to add your own short-cuts say, to resize the document, like Southern's Default ZScript Rev 1.0 (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003345) has? And the ability to section off blocks of icons/buttons? That would be cool!

About ZLauncher
Is this script up-to-date or is there a better---no, not better--- lets say more complete Zscript made since then??
Also' It seem like it was scripted for version 1.55b can I still use it with version 2 or is there an integrated (similar) Zscript inside version2??
What about ZList script... is it also up-to-date for ZB2??
As a mather of fact, for a newb like me who is also new to these forums, it is not that obvious to witch Zscipt is old and witch one is new or at least still very paractical since there are no subtitute in ZB2 as we speak (post) Maybe someone should post THE List of all the Zscript out there for use with ZB2 and / or ZB1.55b. and knowing witch ones are no longuer usefull for ZB2 since it was integrated into the said version or a similar Zscript. Dont you think??

zlauncher works with z2 for sure cuz I use it.
check the dates of the scripts first post....that will give you a pretty good idea of how old it is. Also check the last couple posts...if they don't work in z2, you'll find that people were asking about it etc.
If I get a chance this week I will go thru all my old ones and post which ones still work and which don't.

COOOOOOOOOOOLLL!!
Thats a good idea!
Hi.
Cool script. I have no trouble finding it and launching it and using it. However, I am unable to set it up so that ZLauncher automatically manifests on Startup. I have carefully renamed the file and placed it in the root directory but I don't see the ZLauncher icon in the ZScripts pulldown. Like I say, it doesn't really matter because I can find it and launch it - but it would be nice to have the auto-launch on startup. There is a previous file in the root directory called 'defaultzscript.zsc'. Should I delete this? Thoughts?
Thanks!

great script, but i cant execute it at startup. i've pasted the 2 files into my zscripts folder and renamed the "AutoZLauncherRevA.txt" to "DefaultZScript.txt". but still the normal defaultzscript is executed.
i also have a problem using the zlauncher with the colorPalette script, because they both get loaded into the bottom space(->zlauncher disappears). is there a way to move the zlauncher? that way i could also just create a custom UI and put the zlauncher in there (so it would load at startup).

prowler,
This script was written for early versions of ZBrush. You can't make it run at startup with ZBrush 3.1. Also, it will only display in the ZScript Window and, as only one zscript can be active at a time, will disappear if you load another.
