Thanks to those who made some comments - I have progressed further into placement of items together in the same space. It seems that the initial placement is important ? i.e before one drags a sphere into the workplace it can be " positioned " with the red cross hair in the deformation pallette and the XYZ sliders in "offset" ?
I still have difficulty in manipulating the XYZ integers confidently i.e it seems to be difficult to get the piece exactly where one wants it with this method (?) The concept of layers is becoming clearer but I can still not get how one realigns an item once you move onto another ? e.g I make a head and resize it to allow room for a body or arm - as soon as I have "let go " of the head I can draw the body ( or load one as a tool I have saved ) and mnipulate it similarly - is the marker of any use here ? - any suggestions welcomed - thanks to those who responded last time the referrals worked.
the mud is starting to settle :)

I think some various zscripts or a zscript plugin would help- anyway reading the posts here to get some help
thanks for posting your question

Thanks for that - you do know how to move an object ? i.e when you have drawn your sphere or what have you you must select the EDIT or MOVE function first ? then click alt and move the object - I noticed the gyro on your model and this was a point for me when I started - apologies if this was not the problem.
and yes the forum and threads are extremely helpful - I am reading them as time permits - I also have all the Zscripts etc but have not been able to glean this basic step - back to the PDFs ;)

Adeblov- good observation on the gyro(the gyro is on the seahorse- I think I had just moved it and wanted to export doc as I did not run zscript)

sometimes I forget this and have to clear and start with new Polymesh 3d tool

Moving the (objects/models) ztools to or away from each other and up and down- after creating some Polymesh 3d tools I would like to map (place) them on a 3dSphere and then save the 3dSphere and placed polymesh 3d tools as another Polymesh3d tool - LOL haven't got that far in the project.
