Just a note regarding OSX as a new ZBrush registered user -

Z-Brush is SO good, that I bought it, even though it only runs in Classic, does not manage memory well in that environment, and crashes a lot. OK. It's still worth it, the program is simply awesome.

That said, I understand that we'll be seeing a native version for OSX sometime in the near future. I'm here to remind Pixologic that this would be a REALLY good thing. So, at least one user would be really really happy. 1.5 will smoke us all, but native OSX with Altivec support would also knock me over.

Oh yeah - anyone else running OSX actually get tablet support somehow?

Thanks for listening. GREAT FORUM!!

Stim,
I am running OSX and having no problem with my tablet. I had the tablet when I bought ZBrush and when I installed it worked the first time with the tablet. I do lose the tablet accassionally when I leave ZBrush and have to reset. I blame it all on the Classic environment. Anything running in that is shaky anyway. :D :D

Here's the official word on OS X:

The primary focus has been to get ZBrush 1.5 to the market for all ZBrush users. Once that has been released, then the developers will immediately go to work on creating a native OS X version of 1.5. When this is ready, it will be a free migration for all Mac users.

After that is done, then they'll be going to work on version 1.??? :)

So it's in the works, and won't be terribly long. But we can't give an exact date yet (any more than we can for version 1.5).
