View Full Version : The Preying Insectiod- FINALLY FINISHED-Feb.19th

This is an incomplete image.
The buildings are cubic skinned alphas, as is the terrain. The Insectiod is a texture,(generated in Xenodream), applied to a 3D plane with transparency turned on. Global perspective was used for the landscape. A subtle fog texture was applied. It will evolve. ;)

This is just about complete. The only thing I may add is some green smog in the foreground. Just can't stop messing around with it. It has been a challenging project. I could not use Texture Master on the victim so I had to paint him up where he hangs.

Something a little less gruesome next time....
 Awesome image :tu: :tu: :tu:

Hi Belleski
Very impressive painting of the revival Promethean Myth
Your alone marble bust in Black and White at the Pixo Global Illumination thread was astonished too !

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. I know this one is a bit depressing in subject matter.
Frenchie: Help me out. What is a 'Promethean Myth'? I know that you can come up with a link that explains it. ;)

thats one wonderful piece of art, Belleski! i part. love the background city since stage 1, but all of the additions were fantastico as well :tu: :tu: :tu:
without doubt, Pilou will come up with better urls, but as a preview these might do:
the myth (http://www.geocities.com/Athens/6969/myth.htm)
depictions of it (http://images.google.com/images?q=prometheus+myth&hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi)

Yes Belleski, I have forgotten :)
So...
A very serious (http://www.classicalmythology.org/glossaries/character_p.html) but complet :) As you see your insect became an eagle :)
And images for surfing (http://images.google.fr/images?q=prometheus&svnum=10&hl=fr&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=0&sa=N) on the Myth :) Some selection necessary but big surf :D
Pilou
He he Juandel is a speedy guy and a refine's searcher of Google ;)
I don't refine when I seach an image because you can find with this method amazing closeness like this (http://images.google.fr/images?q=prometheus&svnum=10&hl=fr&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=480&sa=N) :)
And after 20 pages an incredible surrealistic displacement of sense ;)
It's an Oulipo Method :D
Oulipo (http://bostonreview.mit.edu/BR24.1/sallis.html) and to the infinite (http://www.google.com/search?q=Oulipo&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=fr&lr=)
Have good surfing !

I have been watching the progress of this pic. and it is extremely well done, obviously a lot of work has been put into it, especially with textures. But I have to be honest, I really liked it until you added the mutilated human. A bit too gruesome and graphic for my taste, but that's just me. The rest of the painting is truly great.

Thanks Jaundel and Frenchie....I feel enlightened!
NorthStar: Thanks for your support and I can sympathize with your view that the half eaten body is gross, but that is what the image required. It is a departure for me; I just wanted to incorporate some of the stuff I was doing in XenoDream with Zbrush. I'm working on something lighter and brighter now. :)
